Hello everyone. πŸ™‚

I flew in and received a 60 day visa exempt on UK passport.

I want to extend for another 30 days, making total 90 days.

Can this be done from your first day of arrival onwards or does it have to be towards the end of the 60 day visa exempt to get the full additional 30 days extension?

Also am I best to extend in Patong office or when I go to Koh phangan? Is there one thats quicker and more efficient you would choose?

Thanks so much in advance for any advice or input. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜Š

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of extending their 60-day visa exempt on a UK passport for an additional 30 days during their stay in Thailand. Responses clarified that an extension cannot be applied for immediately upon arrival; the timing depends on the immigration office, with some allowing applications 45 days prior and others only within 7 days of the original visa expiration. The Patong immigration office was noted for its efficiency, with one user reporting a quick 15-minute process for their extension.

I got mine extended last week in the Patong office and I was literally in and out of there in 15 minutes. I don't know if it's always like that as that was the first one I've done but I was surprised how quick it was

I can't remember exactly but think it was about 11ish and that was on a Tuesday. Just make sure you get your photo beforehand as it's a bit of a walk from the office to the nearest photo place

You cannot get an extension just as you arrive. The earliest you can get an extension will be dependant on the office you are going to use.

Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Buri Ram (possibly others) allow 45 days prior. Most others will allow 30 days prior.

Jomtien, Samui and Koh Phangan will only let you apply when you have 7 days or less left on your entry stamp.
