Yeah Pattaya immigration is busy all the time. Best to get there before 8:30 to get a queue number. No idea when people actually start queuing there but a guess would be 7:30 or so.

Possibly it may have something to do with the fact that you can only get a Non OA from your home country or country of legal residence, but in theory you can get a Non O from any embassy/consulate. Why that may be a factor is not know to me just a suspicion.

They don’t have a tourist visa. They would be entering with no visa and getting a free visa exempt stamp for 60 days.

For many these days a tourist visa is pretty much irrelevant as they get 60 days exempt anyway.

Some countries still need one.

Why do they require a TM30 or a TM47 or photos and copies of passports and entry stamps/extensions/visas when that information is already on their computer systems?

I believe that the online extension only works for Bangkok - although I’m not 100% sure.

For me I see little point in doing it as you have to go to immigration anyway and you need to pay 500-5000 baht extra to do so.

Yes but there are no official details on how to apply as yet. Going on past history with official announcements we will probably hear on the 30th April how to do it. Perhaps a bit before but I won’t hold my breath on that.

You would get 60 days entering visa exempt whether by air, land or sea.

A 90 day Non O can only be extended for one year providing you meet the requirements to do so. You cannot get a 30 day extension off of it.

If you have a Thai wife or

Thai child then you can apply for one “visit Thai family” extension of 60 days - but this will probably be dated from the date of application not added on to your existing stamp.

Classic Catch-22. You must have an account to get a “retirement visa” or extension but can’t open one if you don’t have one….

If you apply for the initial Non O from London then it will make the process much easier to open an account.

If you’re already here then you’ll either slog it out trying 100s of branches or just use an agent.
