You have to officially cancel an extension based on studying at the local immigration office, if you already applied for at least one extension after the first 90 days. If you are still on the first 90 days stamp, you just leave Thailand and wouldn't be any problem.

You might (or might not) be able to apply for a new visa at the Thai embassy even if your extension is not cancelled, but you will have an issue if you want to apply for an extension with your new visa or convert to a different type of in-country visa.

The simplest is, to get the termination letter from your school and cancel your extension before you leave.

@Ryan *****
, you need to meet financial requirements every time you apply for a 1-year extension, too.

@Pauli *******
, You need to check the exact Thai embassy/consulate that you apply for your visa through. Those details including what they accept as financial proof vary.

, sorry have misread. Then you only need to show 800K baht in your Thai bank account for minimum 2 calendar months as of application day using banked money method, or monthly income/transfer method. Either doesn't have to have 400K for a year.

Do you have Non-OA? If so, check your insurance policy expiry date. The date on the entry stamp based on a valid Non-OA visa is earlier date of 365th day or insurance validity.

Thank you for update.

This is Mahasarakham office specific information, still could give some ideas for those who apply for an extension based on marriage to a Thai.
Ellie *******
Based on requirements for an extension based on marriage to a Thai, you don't need 1-year transaction history of your bank account showing 400K minimum.

But better to check with your local office before jumping into the conclusion on your own.

As you are currently on an extension based on retirement, some offices MIGHT want to see whether you keep the requirement (minimum 400K baht through a year) for the current extension, some don't care.

Let's clear terminology first. Once you apply for the initial Non-O visa based on retirement, it gives you 90-day entry (or initial admitted to stay) stamp. After that, you will apply for a 1-year extension of stay based on retirement/being over 50, <- this is not a visa anymore, it is an extension.

Q. 1 When is the fastest date can do the 90 days report before it expire?

-> If you know the due date, 15 days before is the earliest day you can submit a 90-day report online or in person at the local immigration office. (The last day you can do a 90-day report without any issue is 7 days before the due date for online reporting, 7 days AFTER for reporting in person. )

Q2 When is the fastest date can change the 90 days non o visa (before it expire) to 1 year retirement visa?

-> You cannot change 90 days Non-O visa to a "1-year retirement visa". You can apply for a 1-year extension based on retirement instead. Some offices including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and some others accept a 1-year extension when your current stamp remains 45 days or less. Other offices let you apply for a 1-year extension when it's 30 days or less.

Q3 For getting the retirement visa, should fill it which form?

-> Application form is TM7, and there are some more forms you have to fill out depending the office you use.

Q4 Any requirement difference between applying 90 days non o visa and 1 year retirement visa?

-> Differences may depend on where you applied for an initial visa and where you will apply for a 1-year extension. Anyway, you need to go to your local immigration office to get the latest handout for requirements for an extension based on retirement.

Here is general information for a 1-year extension based on retirement. Your office may have its own requirements. you need to get their specific version.

@Kevin *****
, and bring the tickets to leave Thailand to be sure to get 7 days from 31 July.

If you are submitting TM30 (address registration) in person, you have to go to Chaengwattana office. If you are applying for 30-day tourism extension, you will go to the IT Square Laksi Plaza office.
