Q. Does a second 12 month extension of a marriage visa get provided on the spot?

-> No.

Q. Does this under consideration period also apply if instead changing to a 12 month retirement extension?

-> No.

Every 1-year extension based on marriage starts with an under-consideration period.

An under-consideration period is applied to 1-year extensions based on

raising a Thai child, supporting a foreign child, volunteering, employment by a standard (non-BOI) company, etc.

It is not applied to 1-year extensions based on retirement (in most provinces), studying, employment by BOI company, etc.

Dear members, Please check the requirements and other factors at the embassy/consulate you are really applying for your visa. Different embassy have different policy

, do you apply for your visa through Vancouver too? Unless you use the same consulate, you have to check the exact embassy/consulate you are using for their requirements.

Thank you for the update. Congrats on your visa application. So, you are gonna apply for Non-O retirement immediately after your Non-OA entry stamps are up. Don't forget you need 12 full months of international transactions when you apply for a 1-year extension after your next Non-O retirement. As well check with your local immigration office to be sure it'd work.

, Depends on your province. The effective date of the cancellation is as on the termination letter. Usually, you can apply for the cancellation a few days or a few weeks in advance. You have to leave within that last day.

There are a few provinces that doesn't allow cancellation application in advance, accept it only the last day.
