TLDR : Answer Summary
Tod Daniels is inquiring whether he can apply for a Non-O visa for retirement purposes 3-7 days before his current TR visa expires on February 28. The community responses clarify that he cannot apply within that timeframe as there are minimum time requirements; specifically, he needs at least 15 days remaining in Bangkok or 21 days in Chiang Mai on his current visa to apply. The suggestion for him is to leave Thailand and re-enter to obtain the necessary stamp.

BORDER BOUNCE will get you 45 days stamp plus one 30 day extension of stay at Thai immigration office.

Do NOT ๐Ÿšซ use POIPET for a BORDER BOUNCE.

Nope that's not gonna work at all Andre Fran

There is a minimum number of days you have to have left on your current stamp to apply for the in country Non-O visa. In Bangkok you need a minimum of 15 days, in Chiang Mai you need a minimum of 21 so you need to get after it.

There is no wiggle room on this, you have the required days left on your entry stamp (visa exempt or tourist visa) or the 30 day extension from it or you don't get to apply for the in country Non-O visa
