IMMIGRATION OFFICE CLOSURES October 2023

Immigration offices nationwide will be closed on:

**Friday 13 October: King Bhumibol Adulyadej Memorial Day

Monday 23 October: Chulalongkorn Day

**Plan accordingly.

* Land borders are open like normal during holidays.

* Check before you go if there were other reasons for that border checkpoint to be closed

If you have a stamp that is expiring during holidays when the immigration offices are closed and you show up at the immigration office on the very next working day you will not be fined for overstay and can get your extension like normal. But you will get an overstay stamp in your passport that says; "overstay xxx days, fine waived due to holiday/closure.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Immigration offices across Thailand will be closed on Friday 13 October for King Bhumibol Adulyadej Memorial Day and on Monday 23 October for Chulalongkorn Day. During these closures, land borders will remain open. If your visa stamp expires during these holidays, you will not be fined for overstaying if you visit the immigration office on the next working day, although an overstay stamp will be placed in your passport.
