Why should discussions about visa procedures remain in the group?

ATTENTION MEMBERS

Please keep all conversations ON the group.

We do not know if everyone knows anything about visas or extensions. As long as the conversation is on the group, we, as all members, including moderators, can see the information if anything is incorrect for each other.

Keep in mind:

-Someone could do her visa/extension by herself successfully doesn't mean she understands all procedures and requirements correctly.

-Someone understands his visa/extension procedure and requirements correctly doesn't mean he can explain those in the right way or with appropriate terminologies.

-Someone can explain her visa/extension procedure and requirements in the right way doesn't mean she understands the differences between your situation and hers precisely.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post emphasizes the importance of keeping visa discussions within the group to ensure accurate sharing of information. It highlights that not every member has the same level of understanding or ability to convey visa procedures correctly. Members are urged to report any unsolicited messages from agents and to ask further questions within the group rather than through private messages. The community is encouraged to engage openly to foster a correct understanding of visa matters.

Please consider this again before you think about PM. That someone says he knows about visas doesn't always mean he understands what you really need to do.

I think we should leave the explanation on how to address a tricky situation to the group moderators as they are the experts.

Usually I will call 1111 in advance to confirm all visa requirements.

The CS is able to reply most of your concern.

Hope this infos could help a bit.

I made a post a few weeks back about the steps I went through to get an eVisa in the UK. It was approved by a mod but was almost immediately closed for comments. The reason given was that is was too UK specific. This resulted in one or two angry faces posted and 3 different members reaching out to me via PM to ask more questions which I then had to answer individually.

I understand the reasons for closed comments if clear and complete answers have been given or if people get off topic in the comments. My post was quite comprehensive in detail. However, I think in this instance it would have been useful to allow the opportunity for further questions/input before closing. People don't want the hassle of going through mods to request a re open of a closed post and often pm's can be missed. Not criticism in any way Ellie 🙂, just something that could be considered, especially in this instance as there are tons of Brits who visit Thailand on TR visas.

, understand what you mean, but in most cases, the questions people think are related are not exactly related, and going to be off the rails easily. We welcome new posts with similar questions more than hi-jacking with actually unrelated questions.

IF any member contacts you because you made a post and say they know a way to get xxx or yyy visa/extension please report it to the moderating team immediately.

This group is NOT for agents to join and then surreptitiously solicit for business.
