Borders don't close on holidays, Just so you know, the borders with burma have been closed for OVER 2 years now
You aren't bouncing out and back at any of the burma land borders at this time
The closest land border to Chiang Mai that's open is the Chiang Khong / Huay Xai border with Lao in Chiang Rai province
