long-term, but I’m a bit stuck on what visa options are realistically possible for me right now.
I’ve already been on an ED visa for the past 2 years (through an agency), so I don’t think continuing the same route is a good idea anymore.
I was considering the DTV visa, but I don’t currently meet the financial requirements (not enough funds in my bank account), so I’m not sure if that’s still an option.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
What visa options would you recommend that are actually doable (and safe) for staying longer in Thailand?
Also, if you’ve had any good (or bad) experiences with visa agencies, I’d really appreciate your insights.
If I arrive on Visa free entry and then change to non o retirement through an agent so I can stay 6 months will there be a problem upon entry initially with a return flight 6 months from entry? If so how can I do it?
Good day, I got several questions about DTV (soft power). Do assist me if possible.
1) I understand that DTV last 5 years. I’m interested to enrol in Muay Thai lessons. It’s a 9 months course. After 9 months, am I supposed to enrol for another lessons or by registering for 9 months course, I can stay Thailand for 5 years provided I leave the country every 180 days?
2) For the 500,000 baht requirement, is it 3 months or 6 months in bank account? Will my spouse need another 500,000 baht or she can tap on my 500,000 baht account?
3) Are all embassies the same in terms of requirements and approval rates? If not, any particular country you can recommend me to apply?
4) Do wI have to maintain 500,000 baht throughout the 5 years DTV?
Sincere apologies if my post is too long. Any answers will be greatly appreciated.
Hi everyone, which visa , should I apply for ? I have a girlfriend in Thailand, no plans to get married as yet , I go to Thailand often , never overstay , usually stay a couple of months , then head back to work. Do this around 3 times a year , never been a problem before , was there last in December til January, heading back again in beginning of April , thanks in advance
I have hope to stay in Thailand for around 6 months. I will enter under a type non 0 staying with family 90 day visa. Are you able to extend this in Thailand for another 90 days or would I need to apply for a marriage visa? What are the advantages to each if they are both possible?
Since I first entered with DTV, I haven't been in the country for 90 days or more continuously. Do I need to do the 90 day report or is it only when you are here continuously for that amount of time?
This year my partner and I are planning 2 longer stays, and want to know if it’s doable.
Stay 1. 10 weeks. 2nd May to 11th July. 70 days.
Stay 2. 12 weeks. 1st Nov ‘26 to 24th Jan 2027. 84 days.
Visa wise, am I right thinking the first trip will be on a normal 60 day Single Entry Tourist Visa, then our 1st extension for 30 days (will only need 10 of them). Is this extension done at local immigration?
2nd trip, how’s best/guaranteed to get the 84 day stay, as part of it falls into 2027.
Or do we need to apply for a different kind of visa for one, or both trips?
2027 won’t be an issue as we will both go out long term on retirement visas.
Simply put, i’m here on exemption, i’d like to go non O, i’m old enough, i have the cash, the apartment/accommodation Tm30, also have the monthly income, thai cell phone and the health insurance. What I don’t have is a bank account yet. What is the legitimate legal process for someone who would like to stay longer than 90 days? Another visa type? I’m trying to avoid leaving and returning however it seems impossible? Not keen on using anyone else for possibly getting red taped somewhere in the future, and it’s just more effective doing it myself, opinions? Thank everyone!
Hey everyone any tips on how to found suitable cooking class near Chiang Rai please. Is there any online form on government website that give us the company list of where to go. It's for applying for DTV visa as I want to learn cooking class and Manufacturing food also from local during my possible long term stay in Thailand. Right now I am in north visiting and if all ok for DTV visa approved I will come back but I want to make sure all in right steps.
