You may have a hangup with your air carrier. Some want to see a ticket out of Thailand within the number of days allowed by your entry scheme.

With no visa that would be 60 days regardless that you could get an extension.

Some insist others don’t seem to care. Ask yours for their policy or be prepared to buy a ticket out upon check in to be able to board your flight.

If you stay in country for 90 consecutive days you must report to immigration. A DTV visa allows you to stay for 180 days (and with extreme difficulty perhaps 360) so you need to report your presence to immigration each 90 days.

It’s called a 90 day report for a reason.

Entirely possible if you’re from a country that allows visa exempt entry. Your profile suggests you are.

No one can confirm if it’s going to be without hassle as entry is up to an individual immigration officer. If they’re having a bad hair day then you might get questioned or at an extreme denied. The latter probably won’t be the case but it has happened.

they clearly don’t know what they’re talking about. That is a valid entry stamp based on a Non O visa.

Probably more likely that the manager couldn’t be arsed to do the paperwork needed to open an account for a foreigner.

As an aside are you American? Just asking because the paperwork for Non Americans is about 3 pieces of paper. For Americans it’s about 360. (A little exaggerated perhaps).

You have a window of 14 days prior to 7 days after if reporting in person. You won’t get fined for 7 days. If you’re 8 days over or 8 months over the fine is 2,000 baht regardless.

Yes. Providing you meet the financial requirements to do so. State where you’re applying at and some may be able to give you specifics of what’s needed.

No idea why you’re having issues. It’s clearly a stamp you got on entry giving you 90 days entry based on having a Non O visa. It literally says that.

You’ll probably have to try other bank branches that know what they’re doing to open an account. There’s nothing stopping you other than the branch manager not knowing what they’re doing.

Some like the OA visa as it is a year long visa (that can be stretched out to 2 years) and doesn’t need funds in Thailand. However it does need a police check and health insurance, which can be difficult for some.

A Non O visa obtained either before entering or after in country doesn’t require the health insurance but does need funds in a Thai bank. Which is harder to do now if you don’t have a long term visa prior to coming.

Maybe state whereabouts you are in Thailand and perhaps someone will know an agent who could help. Incredibly difficult these days without one. Possible but highly unlikely.

Hi. You might want to check out the OA visa available from your home country. It would give you a visa valid for a year but does need health insurance and a police check. Many use this visa to eke out almost 2 years with planning and not needing funds in Thailand.

A Non O based on marriage or retirement would only be valid for a 90 day stay unless you extend for a year.
