Hi, I’m visiting Thailand from Australia and did an e-visa for 84 days (expires early October) but at the airport my stamp at the airport has an expiry date of 10 Sept and hand written notation saying evisa. Do I need to worry? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user from Australia raised concerns about their Thai e-visa stamp, which incorrectly indicates an expiration date that is much earlier than their anticipated stay. Community responses clarified that the stamp on arrival is typically for a 60-day stay, with the option to extend it for an additional 30 days. Other users suggested checking with local immigration and ensuring proper understanding of visa validity and entry requirements.
You have to either leave at the date they stamped or apply for an extension at immigration

Sounds like your mixing up your visa is valid dates with you actually entry stamp. I'll assume its a tourist visa, which is valid for 90 days, meaning tou have to enter withing that time frame. You then get stamped in for 60 days which be extended 1 time for an additional 30 days.

Ok. A tourist visa is valid for 90 days from issue date. That means you have 90 days to wing your way to Thailand.
On entry you’ll get a stamp for 60 days stay on arrival. So you arrived yesterday and got a stamp for another 59 days (arrival day is day 1). That is a correct stamp for that visa entry.
hi Stuart you seem to know a fair bit ! Wonder can you advise me please ! I have wife and child in udonthani ! I'm looking to be there fir either 6 o7 months to catch my sons birthday 7 October through to my 70th on 3 may 2026 ! I have a bank account Bangkok bank and property in udonthani also condo in pattaya ! Thanks !
Hi. You might want to check out the OA visa available from your home country. It would give you a visa valid for a year but does need health insurance and a police check. Many use this visa to eke out almost 2 years with planning and not needing funds in Thailand.
A Non O based on marriage or retirement would only be valid for a 90 day stay unless you extend for a year.

Sorry folks, just a tourist visa is what I applied for. Thanks for the feedback!

Assuming you incorrectly thought the 60 day tourist visa grants 90 day stays when it just means it can be used once to enter the country within 90 days, don't worry. Just go to immigration offices within Thailand and extend it for 30 days for a 1900 THB fee, giving you a 90 day total allowed stay.
You may have to explain what visa you applied for. The tourist visa is valid for 90 days in order to enter the country, then you get 60 days permition to stay.
If you applied for a 90 day Tourist Visa the Visa is valid for 90 days and you get 60 days on entry. You will need a 30 day Extension of Stay from Immigration (1900B).
