I’m not applying for a DTV. I live here. Have done for decades.

@Pat *****
I’ve seen posts saying 400 USD to apply. That’s about 13.5k. There’s probably some place on earth that charges 15, but as I don’t know what each individual embassy will charge it was an approximate figure.

The visa when granted is valid for 5 years. At this stage it appears that no one is checking whether you actually do what you signed up for, but perhaps in the future they may. There is nothing that states you must continually do courses for the entire 5 years.

I have no desire to become an influencer. I can’t even recall the last time I even looked at TikTok.

DTV is 500k requirement. 800k is for a retirement visa, which you’re a long way off from getting.

And don’t apply in NZ. They are the priciest embassy anywhere in the world. Approx 40,000 baht where you can get it elsewhere from 10-15k

Apply using the soft power option. Muay Thai, cooking classes, medical appointments, etc.

Prices may differ if you use your own banked funds and just use the agent as paper pushers.

Approx 40k for the first visa and extension (15 months) and then approx 20k per year thereafter.
