have two questions regarding the DTV visa process:
1. I paid the visa fee on July 9 and submitted all documents on July 17, but the status is still "under review." I’ve seen people say it can take anywhere from 2 days to over a month depending on the embassy, but does anyone know the official processing time?
2. Regarding the 500,000 THB financial requirement: In the official checklist, it says the funds must be inibank account for 3 months. However, about two months ago, I emailed the embassy and asked if I could use money from a Thai money market fund (mutual fund), and they replied that it’s fine to sell the fund at the time of application, as long as the money is under my name. Now I'm reading completely different things, and I’m confused.
I’m honestly quite stressed about this process and really hope I won’t get rejected.
If I do get denied, can I apply again at a different embassy (like in Vietnam), or will it already be flagged in the system?ץ
I am in the UK atm and I am going to apply for the DTV via soft powers , doing it through the royal Thai embassy in London but doing it online. Has anyone been approved or done this recently and what is the approx time from start to finish ?
My friend has applied in Ho Chi Minh for a workcation DTV visa and it has been a nightmare. He has provided a full set of documents, then was requested many additional documents which he also provided and now they ask for a lot more additional documents which will take a long time to organise. How long does the additional documents request stay active before being automatically rejected?
He is also running out of time in Vietnam on his visa so is it possible to cancel his current application (can he somehow request to cancel it) and go to another country and apply there?
I applied in Vientiane on the 18.07.25 and got today my date for the interview. Its on the 06.08.25. So right now- July 25- you have to expect 2-3 weeks processing time for DTV in Laos.
Hi I’ve got a problem with the eVisa system. I hope someone can advise me how to proceed.
A week ago I applied for Non-O visas for me and my wife at the Thai embassy in Berlin, completed the applications and paid with my credit card. I just checked the progress and both are marked “Pending Payment.”
Now just around that time, without any prior warning, my bank swapped out my credit card due to a “security issue.” All the payments I made around that time on the old card were honoured, but I see there’s no debit for the visa payments.
On the eVisa website, there’s no mechanism for going in and changing the payment details.
Does the “pending payment” mean they just haven’t gotten to my application and processed the payment? Or does it mean the payment was blocked and never went through? (Maybe my bank’s security problem was actually the visa payments processed by Kasikorn.)
Should I just let those applications die and submit new ones with the payment from my new card? Or wait for them to come back to me and ask for payment?
We’re traveling to Thailand mid-August so the clock is ticking.
Hello all! Im applying for the DTV at the London Embassy. Just wondering if I book a flight a couple of months in advance can I still go ahead and apply for the visa now or should I wait nearer the time? Thank you!
Hi everyone, I need some help regarding the DTV Soft Power visa (Cooking category).
We are a group of seven friends from Serbia, and we’re all planning to move to Bangkok.
On July 1st, each of us deposited 500,000 THB into our personal bank accounts, to meet the 3-month financial requirement for the DTV visa.
We plan to fly to Bangkok on October 15th, and were originally thinking of applying for the DTV visa on October 1st at the Thai embassy in Athens, Greece.
Now here’s our concern:
• If we apply on October 1st, we only have 15 days before our flight.
• We’re not sure if that’s enough time for the visa to be processed.
• If it gets delayed or rejected, we might waste the application fee and miss our flight plan.
So our question is:
👉 Is it too risky to apply for the visa in Athens just 15 days before our trip?
👉 Would it be a better option to just fly to Bangkok on a tourist exemption, and then do a visa run to Laos to apply for the DTV visa from there?
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
UPDATE: Received my approval email with my DTV visa at 2:15pm today (Monday)!
Hi, I landed in Da Nang on Tuesday and applied for my DTV visa Tuesday night with the Hanoi embassy on the online portal. I got a request for additional documents (June bank statement and business registration) on Wednesday at 4:10pm and submitted them along with a cover letter within the hour. I showed them that I have 1.5 Million Baht in my accounts. I haven't heard anything from them since they requested the additional documents and I really need to figure out my travel arrangements. Has anyone else had a similar experience - if so, how long did it take to get a decision?
Right now, my status is Processing Pending Approval (1)
