DTV approved in Ho Chi Minh in 4 business days through Muay thai

Thanks for the great info from this group. Here's me giving back with my experience.

Thursday - Applied online with the following:

- Wise bank statement of USD account. 3 months but had over 500k THB worth 1 week out

- Letter from Muay Thai Gym showing 3 month paid membership

- Agoda booking screenshot of my stay in Vietnam

Friday - I got the following email asking for additional docs

1 - Document indicating current location: To certify your current location, please submit the arrival stamp to Vietnam and hotel booking/fight ticket round trip to Vietnam, please ensure that the period of stay is longer than 5 days for visa processing. All documents must be in English/Thai.

2 - Other request documents: Please provide the training course, company registration/DBD. All documents must be in English/Thai. If not, they must be translated, please ensure the document is clear and readable."

Saturday - I submitted the following

- Vietnam entry stamp

- Muay Thai gym company registration and DBD

- I also provided that bank receipt of my paid 3 month membership which I didn't include last time

Tuesday - 2:30pm - DTV approved

For those that go with the soft power options (Muay Thai training in particular), how do you get with the gym to have them creating the docs for you? Do you fly to Thailand to pay them directly, or can it somehow be done online prior to your flying there?

Jakarta DTV update

My husband just got our 2 visas from the embassy!!! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜†

Documents provided

For him as main DTV holder:

- 500k THB on a bank account at date of application

- letter of acceptance from a Muay Thai school on Koh Lanta

- price 5,600,000 IDR

For me as spouse:

- proof of relationship - copy of our civil union certification from Amsterdam (NL)

- copy of his passport

He gave both applications on Monday around 1pm. And got the visas on Thursday at 1.30pm. 3 days like they announce on the website and when you drop the application.

I did not have to be present which allowed me to stay on Bali with our kids.

He only had to proove 1x 500k THB for both of us.

The MT school on Lanta gave a pretty high price to agree to give him the letter.

Note my husband DOES plan on training in MT but NOT everyday because as a family it just doesnโ€™t work. And they were offering daily training at first.

He managed to get the price gor down a bit but still it was quite an expense. Something to take into account when applying for soft power DTV

I feel joy and relief that we are to enjoy Thailand again.

Also happy to answer any questions!

Hey all, I'm looking to live in Koh Pha Ngan for 4 months beginning in the end of November to train Muay Thai.

I'd appreciate any advice you have regarding a Visa for this purpose

I'm not sure if this has been covered but I'll ask away. Got back from a 2 week Bangkok Phuket vacation and I'm debating on getting a one year muay thai training visa as well as learning thai language as well.

Am I allowed to work at some level doing odd jobs? I have an HVAC company in US so I have some skills but not sure if I could help out in some aspect. TIA
