You have the option of both. Either apply for a Non O visa prior to coming and then apply for an extension or do so in Thailand

If you are applying outside of Thailand it can be in any bank.

Applying inside of Thailand it needs to be in a Thai bank account in your name only.

Never heard of anyone being banned for too many entries.

If they overstay more than 90 days they can get banned.

Have you still got that Hippie haircut? Could be an issue even these days….

You seem to be referring to the ETA requirement that may happen on Dec 1st. There have been press reports of this, but like many instances press reports aren’t law and are quite often way off base. We will have to wait until there is anything officially announced.

It may happen, but it may not.

It can happen. It’s one of the “requirements” to enter Thailand. Except that it’s almost never asked for. I suspect that for whatever reason you may have riled the officer up the wrong way. Just a guesstimate on my part but usually they’d never ask for that.

ok that would be incredibly unusual. But as anything immigration wise it’s up to the individual officer you hand your passport to. If they are having a bad hair day then they can ask for stuff that 99.9% of other people would never be asked for.

Immigration almost certainly won’t ask you for onward flight information unless they are looking for a way to deny you entry. Obviously that rarely happens to anyone who is a “normal” tourist.

If you’ve got a history of previous entries on tourist visas or visa exempt entries then they could ask. They believe you are abusing the system.

100% you need to do a 90 day report if you stay 90 consecutive days in Thailand. Count 89 days from your entry date to work out your due date.

You won’t be able to do it online as the first report from entering Thailand needs a report in person (or by mail).

The OP was asking about the new ETA that may happen come December 1st. They are confused thinking it’s a new e-visa.

There are no confirmed details of what it may take to get one as yet, nor even if you’d actually need one.

If needed it would be for travelling visa exempt and wouldn’t apply for a person that has an actual visa to visit Thailand
