Hello I am very confused with the immigration rules in Thailand because they keep changing I have been here twice this year it accounts to around 70 days can I still make another trip to Thailand later this year or do I have to apply for a Visa
I just renewed my passport and went to Chiang Mai Immigration to do a visa transfer. The immigration officer advised that I don’t need to do it—instead, I just need to leave the country when it is time, return, and present both passports on arrival. Immigration will then stamp my new passport.
I was also advised to email the DTV issuing authority in Hanoi to update my new passport number in my current(DTV).
Has anyone had a similar experience recently? I’ve heard different procedures in the past, so would really appreciate hearing how it worked for others—especially as on-the-ground policies seem to be evolving.
So here it goes. I am planning a winter 5-6 month retreat to Thailand from December 2026 till May 2027. I suppose if I arrive in Thailand with an exit flight within the first 90 days and the reenter for the remainder of my last 90 days with a return ticket to my home country should be acceptable? My understanding is that the tourist visa allows for 60 days with a 30 day extension correct? Just want to make sure I have the right plan in place prior to booking flights etc. Thanks in advance to those who take the time to share their thoughts.
If you had a long term rental contract on property in Thailand and wanted to take multiple 59 day trips to Thailand through out the year always with a return flight prebooked and the 20k in cash . With at least 30days back in home country .would I need a visa etc .im aware of the 157 day total per year issue . Dose the hive mind think I would need a visa or as its just tourism if reg ide be ok on 60 day tourist exemption each time
Hi, if your heading over with your thai wife and you go through the thai side of immigration, would you still need to provide the same details (accommodation, cash etc). More interested on the cash side as will have booked accommodation and filled in tdac anyway. Thanks.
Are there any Merchant Seaman here? Would we qualify for remote work? I have a work rotation of 60 days on the ship and 60 days vacation. I Work a total of six months a year and I spend my off time in Thailand 🇹🇭. I have been doing this for almost 2 years now and I never had any issues but last time I was stopped and questioned about my frequent visits even though I have never overstayed. I don’t even get extensions because I only have 60 days vacation so it worked out perfectly. I want to continue to spend my off time in Thailand so i guess I should try to get this visa. I’m currently on the ship until early March. Also could I get it digitally without going to an embassy?
I have a local flight from Chiang Rai to BBK departing in the early evening , the next afternoon I have an international flight all on one ticket . When will I get stamped out of immigration ? CR doesn't have immigration , Which day will I get stamped out on ?
