TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether 90-day reporting is mandatory for foreigners staying in Thailand. Most commenters confirm that anyone remaining in Thailand for over 90 days, regardless of visa type, must complete a 90-day report. Options for reporting include in-person visits to immigration offices, by mail, or through a representative. However, there are conflicting opinions; some commenters mention that holders of certain visas like the DTV may not need to report. Overall, the majority consensus is that 90-day reporting is a requirement unless specifically exempted.

I get the impression that most of the people commenting on this subject are probably on either 'O' or 'O-A' visas that require 90 day reporting. There's comments here saying that anyone staying more than ninety days needs to do a report, doesn't matter what visa you have unless it's an LTR. So none of the immigration experts on here have no proof unless they actually get it confirmed by an IO., that you do have to do a ninety day report if your in Thailand on a DTV visa. All comments are probably based on assumptions.

you can be as desperate as you wish to not be subjected to 90 day reporting... but the simple fact is that you will be doing 90 day reporting. And the London office is utterly famous for misinformation. I'm most definitely not on O or O-A and that would make no difference whatsoever. If you don't have LTR (which was specifically exempted from 90 day reporting) , happy 90 day reporting.

Whose desperate? If I was in Thailand it wouldn't bother me doing a 90 day report. One thing for sure, when I do go back to stay in Thailand, I won't be on Sadbook all day looking for something to occupy my time. Have you ever been referred to as a synic? Well first time for everything. Happy Sadbook days 2 u

And gave them to you. How often have you been referred to as imbecile? No need to answer lol, i already know

Just read this on ASEAN.

So my wife called the London embassy for me and spoke to several people there about 90 day reporting. Their understanding is that DTV does *NOT* require 90 day reports and a visit to Immigration office is only required for extension. Obviously they are not Thai Immigration dept but I thought I would report it anyway. OK., Embassies and immigration have their own take on things, but it is understandable why people are asking.

Who Must File: All foreigners who remain in Thailand for longer than 90 days, regardless of the type of visa they hold, must report their current address to the Immigration Bureau every 90 days.

2. Timing: You must submit the report within 15 days before or 7 days after the 90-day period. Failing to report within the allowed time can result in a fine.

3. How to Report: You can report your address to immigration in one of the following ways:

• In person at a local immigration office.

• By mail.

• Online (though the online system can sometimes be unreliable).

• Through a representative (if you don’t want to go in person).

4. What’s Needed: When filing your 90-day report, you usually need the following:

• Your passport.

• A TM.47 form (the 90-day report form).

• Proof of your current address (such as a rental contract or a letter from your landlord).

Each 90-day report only updates your residential information; it doesn’t extend your visa or grant additional privileges.

100% you need to do a 90 day report if you stay 90 consecutive days in Thailand. Count 89 days from your entry date to work out your due date.

You won’t be able to do it online as the first report from entering Thailand needs a report in person (or by mail).

with very few exceptions (LTR visa, Privilege/Elite visa), ALL non-Thais must report to immigration when staying 90 days or more.

The fact that it's not mentioned on the DTV information flyers is totally irrelevant.

Not irrelevant, if they issue visas that give you longer than 90 days in Thailand, then it should be stated in the application that you have to report every ninety days. If they give you a visa(DTV) that lets you stay in Thailand initially for ,180 days, then they should inform you when you apply that you have to report on day ninety.

Do you have a link to any immigration site saying you do NOT have to do 90 day report?

Do you have a link that says you do with the DTV Visa? The visa gives you 180 consecutive days before you either get another 180 day extension, or leave and re- enter and get another 180 day stamp. This is a visa, not an O visa extension, which requires ninety day reporting.

Yes, you get stamped in for a period of 180 days. What has that got to do with 90 day reporting? It says nothing at all about whether you have to do it or not.. I think you are confusing 2 wholly separate things here.
