I was told I couldn't change Bangkok Bank to another branch but they opened a new account for me and cancelled and transfered the monies to the new account...a few years ago though.

Mine used to be instant but now have to transfer before 10am to get the money by 2pm . Any later than 10am have to wait until next day 2pm.

I don't blame him for keeping trying to stay, I would be doing the same.. but better if he went down the agent path to get an 'o' visa then an extension for retirement. There are some good agents that will help I'm sure..good luck to him. As for health protection pay as you go at a government hospital I have found is a very good option.

What are the challenges of updating UK pensions and addresses while moving to Thailand?

What I did and with my pensions was keep them going into my Natwest bank and transfer the money through Wise to Thailand. I changed my address to my Thai address with the bank, pension company, DWP and HMRC that was 10 years ago maybe it was easier then.

First you must decide which visa is the best option for her, then fill out the forms which are only available on

then book your slot online to proceed further with VFS. The British Embassy does not get involved..they don't deal with visas.

Otherwise look for an agent who can advise and help.

Quite confusing.. I transfer my pension through Wise to Bangkok Bank every month but I dont use it for a visa so I dont require statements. I use it for every day living hope they are not going to lock this away for 4 months every month..

It will depend where you live when in Thailand and the revenue office you go to AND who is on duty behind the desk you go to..if you don't get the answers you like in the revenue office go back another day and see a different officer.
