Would my local immigration office (Mahasarakham) move my multi non immigrant 'o' visa (based on marriage) into a new passport. (British)

a Visa sticker you bought at an Thai Consulate can NOT be transferred to a new passport.

a Stamp from Immigration called Extension of Stay and with that the stamp Multiple Re-Entry Permit can be transferred.

To answer your question, NO, you use two passport.

Even with an Embassy letter a VISA sticker can NOT be transferred.
