I went for my second 12 month extension of my multi o visa (married to a Thai National ) yesterday at Mahasarakham immigration, after I had finished the application and paid my money I was sent to another desk where a lady asked quite a few questions and typed my and my wife's answers on her computer.

The questions were about my parents and my wife's parents... where we were born..how long we had been married had I been married before...when did I last enter Thailand and many other questions directed to my wife, the form she was completing on her computer was printed off and handed to another officer who pointed out mistakes...so we started again....the second time the form was signed off by the other officer and we were allowed to go... has anyone else had this when renewing an extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster describes their experience renewing a multi O visa (based on marriage to a Thai national) at Mahasarakham Immigration. After completing the application and paying the fee, they faced a questionnaire about personal details including information about both parents, their marriage duration, and other specific details. A second attempt was necessary after errors were identified, but the process was ultimately completed successfully. Comments from others suggest that experiences may vary, with some reporting simpler processes on subsequent renewals.

First time interview with these kind of questions, second time just checked if the answers, name of my parents did not change, officer changed the date, printed it out and got it signed. I guess you also have the 30 day under consideration stamp, during these days house visit is possible and collect the remaining 11 months after these first 30 days.

If you apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay at local Immigration is does take 1 passport page a year and you report every 90 days at Immigration. If you buy a Non Immigrant O visa at a Thai Embassy /Consulate you have to make border runs every 90 days and once a year apply for a new Visa.

Yes Ken done this trip a few times Makes a change I used it as a mini break

Love their bread and big meaty juicy ribs. I didn't know then and still don't know now do you have leave the country or can you do 90 day at immigration. When I used to go it was before I knew about FB

Therefore border bouncing filled my 10 yr passport in 4 yrs

Thanks Robert... I was at immigration 3 hours yesterday got a bit bored towards the end just wondered what they were up too..I had to take the boss and deputy boss of the village last year as they don't seem to do home visits. Yes they told me to go back 26th September for the stamping in ceremony :-)
