Just a heads up into question I asked the other day about using money from the 400000 baht 12 month extension due to marriage.

Immigration told me today that it would not be advisable to use.. as the extension is only under consideration...I have to wait until after the 24th September (that's the date I have to return to immigration to see if I'm excepted for the extension) 42 days left on my visa + 30 days... consideration.....

Ken, it's SO much easier to get an affidavit from the British Consulate stating that you have an annual income of āļŋ400,000. You only need to include some kind of evidence with your request, such as copies of your last year's bank statements or a pension letter or audited accounts or tax returns. It costs ÂĢ54 and is done by post. it takes about 2 weeks to get the letter back, which you then present to the immigration authorities as part of your application for extension. Start the process about a month before your visa extension is due and it's usually fairly straight-forward.

By mistaken account my wife took 3000

i put it back 2 hours later but as 3000 was missing for 2 hours we had to restart all process ....

Mine dropped when money went in and out same day... immigration phoned "head office" they said it was ok as long as it was same day...

Yep if it drops a satang below the 400K baht during the seasoning period you hafta start all over. :(

Happened to a friend of mine too. He got a 60 day "visit family " extension and that bought the time for the money to be seasoned so he could apply for a yearly extension after that.
Tod *********
OKay, hang about,
@K**
, clearly stated the officer said "it would not be advisable to use" :/

That is NOT them comin' out and stating you can't use it.

I still say the real rule is that the money must be seasoned the 2 months on the day you submit your application ONLY.
Tod *********
Ahhh, that's because you tried to apply for the yearly extension BEFORE you were able to do so. Chiang Mai and Bangkok are 45 days or less left on your current stamp and other offices are 30 or less.

Yes I did Tod...they stamped my passport last week then realised I was 54 days before the end of my 90 so told me to come back when it was 45 days.
Tod *********
@Ken ******
did you get an "under consideration stamp" like this?

Usually they're dated 30 days out. The ONLY reason I can think that you've got that much time is that they also allowed you to keep the balance of days you had on your Non-O stamp AND added 30 days to it as well.

I have to wait 72 days before going back is this the norm?...(what's left of my current 90 days + 30 days)
Tod *********
@K**
, I have no experience with what the officers ask for at the "in home" visits because in Bangkok they don't do them :O.

They just have you wait a month and go back to get the year extension stamped into your passport.

I know what you are saying Tod... the money will have been seasoned over 4 months by the time I get to date they stamped in my passport....when they send someone to the house to check on whether I live here have they ever asked anyone to see their bank book?
