Ah Ok. I was under the impression that Laksi only did exempt entry extensions

Theoretically possible but I’ve never heard of a single case of someone doing so. As you say. Why would you?

I believe the only place that people get the OX is from the Sydney consulate as you don’t need the 3m baht funds in Thailand.

Since switching to the evisa system I do not know if this option still exists.

The best business to open would be one that makes you lots of money. What type of business that would be is unknown.

Many people have used the phrase of “how to leave Thailand with a a small fortune - come here with a big one”. In many cases that’s apt.

Some succeed. Some don’t.

You may have heard of this happening but 100% this is hogwash. You don’t ask for however long you want to stay for. If you are granted entry to Thailand you are given the number of days your entry scheme allows. That may be 14, 15, 30, 60, 90, 365 days, or longer. You don’t decide what to ask for. Your entry scheme, as in the visa you may or may not hold decides.

Any foreigner would need a visa that permits work and an accompanying work permit to work legally here.

But your post suggests that the child is Thai - with a Thai father so for all intents and purposes they are Thai and therefore they could work. The fact that they also have a US passport is irrelevant

There is no update as to when or even if it will happen. Watch this space. You’ll certainly hear about it if it does.

You need to go to immigration and get your stamp transferred to your new temporary passport. Take the police report of your old passport loss with you

Korea uses the evisa service.

Apply here.

(I’m assuming you are referring to S. Korea 😀)
