Hello everyone my Non-B visa expires on September 15th, but I need to be in the UK from July 20th - September 20th (I currently have a return flight to Thailand on September 21st).
I’m not able to renew my visa before I leave so what are my options?
- Does anyone know if it’s possible to apply for a shorter 1 month Non-B visa extension or something before I go?
- Has anyone renewed their Non-B visa in London recently? How long did it take and is it a smooth / reliable process?
Is it possible to open a bank account with just a Non-B visa? I’ve recently accepted a teaching job, and while I already have my Non-B visa, I’m still waiting for my work permit to be issued
Dropped into Kasikorn today to ask about opening an account because the delays with the Wise to Bangkok Bank transfers is becoming untenable. Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, I couldn't do it and was cited the only 3 visas acceptable are ED, work and retirement.
I have lived in Thailand for 8 years with a work permit and non-b. My bank accounts are all Thai, my drivers license, residency, utility bills, income... everything is all Thai. Will that be a problem as I switch to the DTV? Should I include my non-b and WP in my paperwork?
Any fellow expats experienced with the WP & non-B visa cancellation process, please? My buddy's employer cancelled his WP today and got confused about whether he should cancel his non-B Visa on the same day or if the visa can be cancelled later day once he is ready to leave TH.
I am working at a school. I am presently under contract until the end of July, but I will need to start at my new school on July 1st. Consequently I will go to Laos (Savannakhet) to get a new 90-day Non-B.
It is not convenient for my current HR to assist with visa and work permit cancellations in the week that I will travel to Laos. They says that there is no need to cancel my current Non-B before I go to Laos as it will be cancelled automatically when I cross the border. There will be no issues either at the border or at the Thai consulate in Savannakhet when applying for the new Non-B.
My current school said that they will cancel my work permit with the Labor office formally in the week after I go to Laos. I have no reason to believe that they won't do this. They are honest and reliable. Once they do this, they say, I will be able to apply for a new work permit.
I am concerned that if I don't cancel the work permit and visa before going to Laso, then get a temporary 7-day visa, and then go to Laos that I might run into a problem either at the border, or at the Thai consulate.
If anyone has any insight into this situation, I would greatly appreciate it. I am just trying to do the right thing, in the right way. Thank you in advance.
Hello!! I’m a semi-retired Canadian high school teacher with a TEFL certificate heading to Hua Hin in August. I would like to do some teaching with Thai students. Should I just go on a tourist visa and apply for a work visa, if I’m offered a job? Or do I need to have a work visa just to apply for a job? I would prefer the option that is not going to land me in a Thai jail!!😆
I am going to Vietnam to apply for the non b visa for work, then I will go back to Thailand afterwards.
Read online that its only online now, and you have to be outside of Thailand when you do it, my question is, how would they know if I am outside Thailand or not? (Being that its all done online)
I read that it may be possible that they call you in for an in person interview, but, many people said they havent been called for an in person interview. So besides that, how would they know where I am?
Btw, none of the requirements for the non b visa require you to show exit stamp from Thailand or anything of that nature, so im curious if im able to stay in Thailand while I do it, then after a couple weeks, or however long it takes, then i go out and come back in. Am I missing something?
