Can a 16 year old work legally in Thailand?

Does a 16 year old American citizen with a Thai father & farang mother need a work permit?

My friend from USA traveled to Thailand (dual citizenship). Her Thai passport had expired so she used her USA passport to enter and was given a 30 day visa exempt. She later went to immigration and asked for a 30 day extension and they literally stamped her in for 1year without any steps to show any banking requirements.

They told her that since she’s a Thai citizen w a Thai ID card she’s immediately eligible for 1year resident extension on the 30 day “Visa Exempt” stamp in her USA passport.

Was this a mistake by immigration or do they automatically give out 1yr extensions to a Visa Exempt stamp for Thai ID card holders w out having to meet any financial requirements similar to other visas???

I was in the impression that dual citizens are governed solely by which passport they use upon entry. But it seems they make exceptions to dual citizens?

Pls advise.

My husband is a Thai national BUT never had a Thai ID card issued, so we plan to go to Thailand to get his Thai ID card, then renew his Thai passport.

I’m keen to hear people’s thoughts on the best visas for us to get, given that the process of getting his Thai ID could take several months.

The situation:

I am British and my husband is Thai. We are going to Thailand to get his Thai ID card (he came to the U.K. as a child so needs to go to Thailand for his first Thai ID card). We hope to stay in Thailand for a while.

We are thinking of entering Thailand either with 30 days on arrival or a tourist visa. Once he has his ID card, and if we choose to stay, I will apply for a marriage visa in Thailand.

My questions:

Am I right in thinking that I will need to take our British marriage certificate, legalised/certified by the FCO in Milton Keynes and the Thai embassy in London? Then stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok?

Am I right in thinking that as a foreign wife, I will not need to prove my income (I make 40,000 baht per month anyway though if needed).

Can this be done at his local Amphur office in Thailand?

Anything else we will need?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to get a Thai ID card without my Mother present? I currently hold UK passport but wanting to apply for Thai ID/Thai passport.

Question - I recently got my Yellow Book and Thai ID Card. I am British passport holder and married to a Thai lady.

The senior man at the Amphoe said the next step is to complete of a TM10 process which would entitle me to a Blue Thai ID card (rather than my Pink one)…. I have tried to research the TM10 to understand what it is, and there is little info on tbe Net …. Can anyone shed any light please?

Can anyone explain what are the requirements for Tai Yai people to work legally in Thailand when they don’t have a Thai ID card?

Me and my fiancé (thai citizen) have booked trip to Cambodia end of November but today we delivered her passport for visa application to Norway. But my question is does she need her passport for enter Cambodia or can she use her ID card? We plan to stay few days there before coming back. Since we are unsure how long it will take for her to get her passport back.
