Perhaps this is why many married guys still took the retirement route and put the extra 400k in the bank.

Im doing marriage 12 month too also thought the cost was considerably higher than I expected.

Is it possible to change from marriage to retirement option once on a 12 month marriage?

Maybe its not such a big deal and slse. Depends on the IO in question

Thats one reason I want out!! but not the only reason of course. Been planning it for 3 - 4 years now. BTW, I used an agent in London who was highly recommended to me and I can only say he was indeed very very good. For me, I just didn;t want to mess around with the EVisa as I am not the best tech person around!! My company wants me to work P/T in Thailand but with tax and permits etc, I can't take that risk. And will be taking 25% lump sum before Lie-bour get hold of it....

are you obtaining a Type O then returning before 90 days? Im just waiting for mine to be issued from london as I have been told my application has been approved without further questions or documents needed. Expecting it anytime as it has been a week and a half. Unlike you, i am retiring so im leaving UK 7th December
