Do Thai dual citizens need to fill out a DTAC form when entering Thailand and what passport should they use to exit Thailand?

My wife (Thai) has both her Thai passport and UK passport.

We leave UK 7th December and we both have used UK passports for leaving UK and for flight booking.

Two questions:

1. My wife can enter Thailand with her thai passport and does not need to fill in a DTAC form?

2. When returning bavk to UK, we have a plane ticket using our UK passports. Does my wife leave thailand using her thai passport, but at the check in desk use her UK passport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When a dual citizen of Thailand and the UK travels, they can enter Thailand using their Thai passport without needing to fill out a DTAC form. Upon departing the UK, they should use their UK passport at check-in, but upon exiting Thailand, they must show their Thai passport to immigration. It's important for dual citizens to leave a country with the same passport they used to enter it.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

If you are a dual citizen you must leave with the passport you enter the country with. But when you arrive to enough country you can use your other passport if you so wish that’s your choice or whatever passport is the most convenient for that country

@Simon *******
yes take both passports
Jim *******
@John ********
No. Any Immigration would tell you outright "We do not want to know of any other passports".

As you say Jim, just enter Thailand on a Thai passport. And then leave on it as well!! No need to show the UK passport except at check-in to obtain boarding pass.
Frank ************
Thai passport to enter Thailand and Thai passport to leave, she can’t use her UK passport to leave Thailand, immigration will be on her if she does
Jim *******
@Frank ***********
How does that work? An UK passport holder can leave UK to wherever they want. She can leave Thai on Thai passport.

Landing in the UK, she uses her UK passport.

My daugther (21) leaves Japan on her Japanese passport. Lands in Thai on her Thai passport. Leaves Thai on her Thai passport. Lands in Japan on her Japanese passport.

when your daughter is at immigration leaving BKK airport, does she show her boarding pass? I don;t recall having to do that I think it is just the passport check that you are officially leaving Thailand. The passport your daughter shows at check in is her Japanese passport? In our case, our flights are booked in our UK passports. So that I reason is why only the Thai check in desk requires my wifes UK passport.

@Frank ***********
correct use uk passport to depart uk and depart bkk via the airline check in and uk immigration...just use her thai passport at immigration in and out bkk
Ralph *******
Yes. She doesn’t need TDAC. She enters Thailand with her Thai passport and the UK with the UK one. Same when you leave - use the passport you entered on.
Chan *****************
Returning to UK.

Check in with UK passport with the airline.

Show Thai passport at the immigration when leaving and use UK passport to enter UK
Jim *******
@Chan ****************
Nothing to check. Thai passport leaves Thailand, UK simply greets the UK passport holder.
Jeremy ********
The airport check in and immigration are 2 separate entities

She will depart the UK on her UK passport

Enter Thailand on her Thai passport

Depart Thailand on her Thai passport

Enter the UK on her UK passport

Thai citizens don’t have to do the TDAC

Agree two separate entities. When checkin in at BKK for returning to UK, all my wife shows is her UK passport as that is what matches the airline licket. Then, the UK passport is put away and only then does she need to show Thai immigration her Thai passport when leaving. But prior to proceeding to passport control when leaving Thailand, she has to show her UK passport and boarding pass to get through the security gate, and only after then show her Thai passport to the immigration officer. (But having said this, we left Thailand last April and there was no immigration officer. Someone scanned mine and my wifes passport but it wasn;t the immigration police in a booth. Maybe thats a new thing?)
Jeremy ********
No idea I see the officer in the booth always

The Thais have an Egate they can use which is totally automated no officer at all

I believe only Thai nationals can use this…

maybe PR holders can use the E-Gate as well I’m not sure so if I’m wrong someone will point this out to me in a trollish manner

1. NO she is entering on a Thai passport

No DTAC for Thai passports. She passes Immigration with her Thai passport as her UK one has no entry stamp. ;)
Jim *******
@Graham *****
And you can enter Thai along with her through passport control, ahead of the line for "non Thai passports".
Peter *******
1. No TDAC required

2. Yes out UK, into Thailand with Thai passport. Check in with UK passport as airline staff want yo see a visa, use UK passport for airline. Immigration use Thai passport to exit.

@Malcolm ********
airline chek-in with Thai passportm no onward travel proof needed, exit UK with Thai passport, enter Thailand with Thai passport
Night *******
@Peter ******
Now the immigration also has aisles where no manual passport control is required. She has to only scan her Thai passport for exit. Also check in with the UK passport.
David ******
@Peter ******
agree. Her thai passport will need and entry and an exit stamp, because next time she enters thailand, if she has no exit stamp (even in a Thai passport) she will be questioned at immigration on arrival!

@David *****
would that still be the case of exit stamp now they have the scanning ? I never get an exit. Stamp and i arrive and depart every month
