ORIGINAL POSTER
When on a 90 day non-immigrant O visa, my 400k will be in the bank 4 days after I arrive. (1 day delay as constitution day).

Is it absolutely fixed that I must wait 60 days for the money to mature before applying for the 12 month extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a 12-month extension on a Non-Immigrant O visa, you are required to wait two months after making a bank deposit of 400,000 THB. This means that if you deposit the money, you can apply for the visa extension on the same day of the following month, two months later, as long as you have at least 30 days remaining on your entry stamp.

If your bank account is already set up, send the money now. Also, apply for a Non-O while abroad.

No, you don't wait 60 days. You wait TWO MONTHS. Whether that's 60 days or not depends on the length of the months.

If you make your deposit on the 12th of a month, you can apply on the 12th subsequently 2 months later. So February 12th means you can apply April 12th, etc.

Also, you cannot apply earlier than when you have 30 days left on your entry stamp from your non-O, though some offices allow when you have 45 days or less left.
