TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about taking a trip to the UK for 6 weeks after spending July and August in Thailand on a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa), returning to Thailand in mid-October to commence studies in November. Community responses confirm that with a DTV, there are no substantial restrictions on how long one can leave Thailand. Additionally, they discuss whether to book flights before obtaining the DTV, with mixed advice suggesting that it's safer to secure the visa first.

One thing im not sure about is, do I book the flight first or obtain the DTV first? The longer I leave booking the flight, the price goes up as we know!

I would do flight first if you intend to go anyway irrespective of whether you get DTV or not

the DTV online form is taking ages to complete. It doesnt allow me to load more than one document in a section. Ie ‘financial evidence’. I have several bank statements for different bank accounts

but if DTV for whatever reason fails, have to apply for a 60 day tourist visa ;assuming 60d going back to 30d)

no sign of that happening soon. Even if it does you can get 30 and extend it. You need to say when you want to go if you want people to advise properly

you are stamped in for 180 days on arrival into Thailand with a DTV Visa.

Either extend it one time for 180 days inside Thailand at your local Thai Immigration office...by meeting the same requirements for the DTV visa as originally issued...

Or leave Thailand and reenter to get a new 180 days stamp.
