TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, there is a visa known as the Non-O visa, commonly referred to as the "marriage visa." This visa allows individuals to enter Thailand for 90 days based on their marriage to a Thai citizen or for raising Thai children. It can be applied for through the eVisa online portal.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.

That's the reason the issue the Non-O visa that everyone calls "marriage visa"

It's a single entry 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai or raising thai children.

This choice on the eVisa online web-portal

thanks for your replies. Yes OK I was already planning on the OA visa then turn it into marriage visa.

We have a nice small room in bangkok now so I guess its Chaeng Wattana for the application for 12 months based on marriage?

But the initial OA has to be done online in the UK?

@John ********
yes, that has to be done in your home country due to it's requirements, such as A Police Check.

you got your terms mixed up

you want the choice I showed you in the image grab

You do NOT want an OA "retirement" visa
Peter ************
can you get an extension with this
Tod *********
@Peter ***********
yep you can apply for the year long extension of stay based on marriage to a thai by meeting the 400K baht proof of funds and turning in the required documentation at the immigration office

OR

You can get one 60 day visit thai family extension without proof of funds

those are it, no other extensions on a Non-O based on 'thai family' is available

@Tod ********
oh wow so 90 +60

Yes, it's beter to get the correct Visa for your stay especially now with the clamp down on excessive use of the Visa Exempt entry

why did they stop the multiple entry ?

@Andrew **************
it's NOT offered anymore, anywhere. Get the one year extension of stay as Married to Thai by meeting the requirements for the Non O Visa as Married to Thai and the one year extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office.

You can enter Thailand as Visa Exempt Entry, 60 days. And one 30 day extension of stay... Plus one family visit extension of stay for 60 days. BUT at some point, Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand may question you about getting the Correct Thai Visa for your visits to family in Thailand.
