Bit of a different question…

My wife (Tha and UK passport holder) id flying with me to Thailand for two months.

When we return, she is going back to Thailand two weeks later with her daughter.

Is this too short a time for to return to Thailand on a second visa exempt?

My wife does have a Thai passport also. But need to know as the flight has to be booked with correct name in the passport.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the feasibility of their wife re-entering Thailand on a second visa-exempt entry after a two-week gap, given her dual nationality (Thai and UK). The community suggests that she should use her Thai passport for entering and exiting Thailand, which allows for unrestricted entry as a Thai national. Various commenters provide practical advice on which passport to use during different stages of travel, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the airline is informed of the name used for booking.

She can book flight with the name of either passport. Just make sure to use the correct set of the name, nationality, and passport number on the passport that is used to book a flight. As long as she has a valid Thai passport, she can enter Thailand on that. She wouldn't have issue with airline if she can show a Thai passport if it's not used for booking.

And as long as she enter Thailand on a Thai passport, it's not visa-exempt entry for foreigners as she is Thai to enter. No limit on entry to Thailand for Thai nationals.

Even if she has a reason to have to enter Thailand on a foreign passport for many times, she wouldn't have a problem as long as she can show proof of Thai nationality (passport or ID).

Perhaps sooner or later you may want to take the necessary steps to get your wife’s name to match on both passports. Could prevent future issues.

My kids use both Thai and UK passports but their names are exactly the same on both passports. Get that sorted and it becomes a non issue.

That said, she will have no issue arriving on a UK passport and get stamped in for 60 days.

She can book her flight in the name on her UK passport and use that to check in and board. After disembarking she can show Thai immigration her Thai passport. When leaving Thailand she can check in with her UK passport and pass through immigration with her Thai passport then swap back to her UK passport

Why doesn't she use both passports if you're unsure!

Out of UK, UK passport,

into Thailand, Thai passport.

Out of Thailand, Thai passport.

Into UK, UK passport.

we are US citizens - my wife is a dual Thai citizen - and have used this method for years, never a problem.

Yes! that's what my wife always does. Because she wants to be Thai in Thailan and not travel as a tourist in her own country.

It feels good in ❤ she says!🤗

And I understand her very much.

Use her Thai passport for immigration to enter and leave Thailand regardless of the different names. Show the airline the name she use to book. Always carry both.

Have her use her Thai passport to enter Thailand and depart on her next trip to Thailand.

Same with her daughter if she has a Thai passport.

If the daughter has only a UK passport, she will use it for travel with her Thai Mother.

thanks James.

We have our flights booked already so my wife uess her uk passport.

So when she flies back with her daughter it is best confirming flight (with Etihad) with her Thai passport details?

Her name is different than in her uk passport

It was more a case of whether she can enter thailand using her uk passport on a visa exempt for a two month holiday, then, after returback to uk 2 weeks later she goes back to thailand for a month which would still be a uk passport and a second visa exempt in a short space of time.

Her thai passport was changed in Buriram with her surname now matching mine.

When she cones to renew her uk passport, does that cause a problem??

she can enter Thailand with the UK passport... no problem. Whichever she enters with she must use leaving Thailand

If any questions, she's Thai Thai Immigration Officers will let her in.

UK 🇬🇧 passport agency will no longer issue a UK passport under a different name to dual citizenship passport holders. Not sure what the consequences would be if she failed to disclose/lied on the last passport renewal. FYI

@John ********
name on passport MUST match name on the airplane ticket

Just use whichever passport she booked her ticket with.
