TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing time for an O-A visa at the Thai embassy in London typically ranges from 3 to 5 days, as London is known for its efficiency. However, some applicants report longer processing times depending on circumstances, such as holiday periods. It's worth considering alternatives like the Non-O visa, which has different requirements and may be simpler to obtain.

I don’t understand this on the E-Visa website… what proof of residence? In Thailand or UK?

UK. An electricity bill for example.

Don't do Non immigrant OA in online.

It's complicated. Just Non O (90 days) then when go to Thailand you can extend to retirement visa 1 year with 800,000฿ in bank.

i didn’t know there were two types? With the ‘Non O’, i can open a thai bank account and then after 2 months extend based on marriage?

Are you certain you want the OA visa and not the non O?

The non O requires 800,000 baht in a Thai bank for the first year, but otherwise it's a simpler option as you don't need the criminal checks or the insurance policy from one of only a few companies.

it is the non OA visa. Will immediately open a thai bank and deposit 400,000 THB then after 2 months, apply to extend based on marriage

I am unsure if that will work (not saying it won't). I would ask another question to check it is possible to do this and the moderators will confirm. Good luck.

hi. What about it sucks in particular. I’m probably going to get Non O but it’s losing money on the 800K currency switch when I could stay in a U.K. account. I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks

I agree, I have a non o visa🙂

London is generally known as one of the fastest Thai embassies in the world. 3-5 days for most visas.
