Would the new extension, let's assume 45 days prior is accepted, start from the end of the previous allowed to stay date or from the day the application is approved. Just trying of understand if you would lose time for applying much earlier.

you stated ' ..renew .. inside the country".. how about external/home country ? Same applies (assuming your current passport is valid after expiry of visa, but you return back to home country and get passport renewed and return to thailand before visa expiry) ?

Hi Tod.. you are correct on the 2 consulates now.. as the one in Toronto, closed down.. The Toronto consulate, I did a walk-in years back, and was told only issued for family situation even though I was over 50 etc.. And then, when i actually drove to Ottawa to the consulate/embassy, hand submitted my OA appl, was also informed that the non-O 90days was more for family. And so i gave up. Is all good, will do all this within Thailand. thx

Canada.. went to the Consulate..the 90 days Non-0, was informed, is meant strictly for 'family' or similar type situation. Unfortunately.

Agreed. But certainly plenty of helpful advises to help plan forward incase 3 months leads to 2 years.
