yes that is true. The Non-Imm O will give the the 'option' to further apply for the 1 yr extension should I wish to proceed forward with it. Yes, more requirements (hopefully insurance is not one of them, though it's smart to get it regardless).

I thought I read immigration notice that an extension would be for 60 days rather than usual 30 days. Can't seem to find this article. I am on Long Stay and not a tourist.. Just want to stretch it a tad longer..
Oh my mistake.. I thought it was just general extension.. The type I am not sure... I do have an O-A, permitted to stay to end of this month. I do not want extension on the O-A ( 1 yr extension) as I do not have the requirements. So question is if I apply for an extension., 1990 baht.. Will get 30 or 60 days..
