Should I report my return date for my next 90-day report in Thailand?

Jul 7, 2024
I just got my notice from immigration for my next 90 day report saying it is due on 22 Jul. Can I ignore it as I returned from the UK on 23 May so calculate I am not due to report till 21 Aug? Or should I just go ahead and tell them about my return date assuming they will adjust the next notice accordingly?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about whether they should report their return date to Thai immigration for their next 90-day report, as they had just returned from the UK. Community responses advised that the notice they'd received is automated, generated based on the previous reporting date, and can be ignored since their next report is due 89 days from their return date. It was also noted that they need to complete a new TM30 when entering the country, which affects the reporting schedule.

leaving the country, and upon arrival, you still need to do a new TM30, even if its' the same residence. That should trigger the next 90 days reporting date. The copy of the updated TM30 is submitted for the the 90 notification (in person Jomthein).

You'd wish they would include a simple disclaimer in the email stating if you've left the country then ignore the email.

The email message you get for a new 90 day report is computer generated based on your previous 90 day approval date. It isn't tied in to the arrival departure system so they don't know you left

IGNORE it. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you entered the country on the 23 of May your next 90 day report is due 89 days from that date or on the 20 Aug.

Remember the first 90 day report after returning to the country has to be done in person now.

So I ignore the computer generated request, turn up in person for the new 90 day report then assume it will subsequently be in the system so I can do all future applications on line like before? (The online process is very good IMO.)

once you do the ONE report in person after returning from abroad then the next one will be able to be done online

BUT

NO you won't get an email saying when that is due because IN PERSON reports (like the one you're going to do next) don't get in the online database.

You do this next report in person, then you do the following report online from 2 weeks before the due date until 1 week before the due date

AFTER you get one online approved again, then you'll start getting the emails

I've never done it in person, always by mail. Is it still accepted?

Thanks! I'd rather go to the local post office than traveling 1.5 hours to Chaeng Watthana Immigration!
