Can I obtain insurance for extra days to stay in Thailand on an O-A Visa?

I'm currently on an O-A Visa that I obtained in Canada. My visa will expire on Aug 21, 2024, next month. However, my insurance will expire Aug 2, 2024. My stamp says I must leave on Aug 2. Understood. However, my question is this. Can I obtain insurance for those extra 19 days and then depart on Aug 21, 2024? It just works better with my plans. I don't think it's possible, but I wanted to ask. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user on an O-A Visa wants to know if they can extend their stay in Thailand by obtaining insurance for an additional 19 days after their current insurance expires. Responses indicate that this is typically not possible without obtaining a new entry stamp and insurance that covers the stay. One suggestion is to arrange insurance in coordination with the visa dates prior to applying for an extension.

I was able to get my insurance company to coordinate my policy dates with my visa dates. Instead of trying to get a few days of insurance you should be able to buy 1 year + a few days.

Nope, you can't do that

you got stamped in for as long as the insurance was good for (up to a year) and if you wanted to get a new stamp you'd get more insurance exit/re-enter the country

Most people get another year mandatory 100K USD health insurance, bounce out and back before their entry stamp/visa expires and get stamped in until the new insurance expires (up to a year)

You can get two years of stay out of an OA visa that is valid for a year

If you're not gonna get another year insurance bounce out/back to get another year, you leave when your current stamp runs out

Hi Tod I need your help I am on an OA that expires in early October including my insurance. When should i leave and re enter and if I buy insurance for another year will that be accepted then foe a OA visa multiple re entry?

if your visa expires in October and you want to get the max stay then buy another year of insurance and do a boarder bounce before the visa expires, you'll be stamped in for as long as the insurance is valid up to a year. If you want to exit and re-enter Thailand on the new entry stamp you'll need to buy a single or multiple re-entry permit at your immigration office or an airport before any departure on the new stamp.

Thank you so much for the advice. Truly appreciate it!

is getting a 30 days extension an option ? if so, this meets your exit date, and no insurance.

@Pedro *********
nope, it is not, there is no 30 day extension available on any Non-Immigrant type visa
