my regular bank account has around 250,000 THB as I move every month money to a savings plan with higher interest but also have a 2.5m THB fixed bond account which has just finished this week.

Im hoping that it doesn’t matter how many accounts i have and what type, so long as I have 400,000 THB and can upload several statements?

Im trying to figure out the difference between marriage and retirement route. We have thai wedding certificates/registration and will rent an apartment. We will eventually build a small simple house in Buriram but wont be our permanent residence for 2 or 3 more years.

ok understood. But when i do apply for 12 month extension, OK we can still show the house book, but it was more a question of submitting other ‘house photos’ (or rented apartment) showing we are living together. It is highly likey we will be in Punnawitti area of BKK.

So we have my wifes housebook, her Naambat, thai and UK passport, and our marriage certificates (all in Thai as we married in BKK)

I guess we have to go to chaeng Wattana

just make sure im not talking about something different… you are referring to uploading documents for obtaining Type-O 90 days visa in the UK (by submitting house book) and not when applying for 12 month extension based on marriage within Thailand? That is when I thought we would have to sumbit photos in and out the house plus ghe drawn map.

what if the house which the house book is registered to, has been knocked down? 18 months ago my wifes brother and his local village helpers(and me chipping in) we demolished the house with a view to rebuilding.

Does thix mean we have to find rented accommodation to count to the marriage visa?

Can the statements from those accounts be counted towards my acceptance for having 400,000 THB? Means i have to upload : separate statements. Will slso have 25% tax free pension lump sum needed

my wife has the blue book but, we knocked the house down last year with a view to re-building when we come to thailand. So cant take inside photo’s!!

We were planning on s 6 month rent somewere. Does this change anything?

sure yes, but as the paperwork is less onerous for retirement visa, i will more than likely do the retirement 12 month extension route

i think i will do this Nigel. Im not a paperwork person at best and not particularly competent with computer form filling.

Do I need to show the 800k bank statement BEFORE i apply for Type O from UK? I wasn’t aware that was a pre requisite for type O, only for 12 month extension
