I have used a visa before. Do they stamp the hard copy I bring to the desk and my passport?

Agree two separate entities. When checkin in at BKK for returning to UK, all my wife shows is her UK passport as that is what matches the airline licket. Then, the UK passport is put away and only then does she need to show Thai immigration her Thai passport when leaving. But prior to proceeding to passport control when leaving Thailand, she has to show her UK passport and boarding pass to get through the security gate, and only after then show her Thai passport to the immigration officer. (But having said this, we left Thailand last April and there was no immigration officer. Someone scanned mine and my wifes passport but it wasn;t the immigration police in a booth. Maybe thats a new thing?)

As you say Jim, just enter Thailand on a Thai passport. And then leave on it as well!! No need to show the UK passport except at check-in to obtain boarding pass.

when your daughter is at immigration leaving BKK airport, does she show her boarding pass? I don;t recall having to do that I think it is just the passport check that you are officially leaving Thailand. The passport your daughter shows at check in is her Japanese passport? In our case, our flights are booked in our UK passports. So that I reason is why only the Thai check in desk requires my wifes UK passport.

From UK too and my thai wife (22 years) doesn’t really want to go back to her country full time (Buriram)

Although no probs money-wise, we miss Europe too much. So for us its october to end of Feb, then 7 months UK freelancing to fund European trips whilst here in UK.

We rent for 134 pcm in Buriram so keep it for the whole year.

Best of both worlds I guess.

Ok seems logical… i need my funds to mature for 2 months inbetween a bank before I can apply for the one year extension. I wonder how that works?
