My wife is half Thai and is in the process of obtaining her Thai passport. As her husband, I’m trying to understand what the easiest visa option would be for myself and our two children once she has it? Our children are 1year old and 4 year old.

Would we be able to apply for the appropriate visas from within Thailand while on a tourist visa, or would we need to leave the country to apply?

Also, if her Thai passport isn’t issued before our current tourist visa expires, is it possible for us to switch to education visas instead? In that case, can our children be listed as dependants under one visa, or would each family member need their own visa arrangement?

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated

TOURIST VISA

I'm currently on a 3mth only visa from the US & recently received my Thai national passport in BKK.

What's the best way to stay longer if I should decide after my 3mths is up?

Leave the country & enter as a Thai national? Where's the quickest boarder run & back? Costs?

If I choose to stay longer, does that effect my entry back to the US with my US passport?

Does an eight year-old child from the US need an E visa to re-enter Thailand? We left using her US passport, although she has dual citizenship because she was born in Thailand and also has a Thai passport.

I was born in Thailand, moved to the UK when I was 4. I've been trying to get my Thai ID card for a while so I can permanently move back to Thailand and the short of this long journey, is they are requesting a DNA test and photo evidence of me and my mother- I am flying my Mum out to Thailand from UK to do all of this. However I just found I did get issued a Thai passport once as a kid- which my step dad just found but totally forgot about. It expired in 2002.

Does this make a difference? Should I be able to get a Thai passport and Thai ID without all the extra time and expense of the DNA test and endless trips back to Thailand to get this sorted?

Hi

Me and my . Thai wife are returning to Thailand in March. The question I’m asking is my wife only has an Australian passport. Will she be allowed to re-enter Thailand and stay for good or will she need a visa

My wife (Thai) has both her Thai passport and UK passport.

We leave UK 7th December and we both have used UK passports for leaving UK and for flight booking.

Two questions:

1. My wife can enter Thailand with her thai passport and does not need to fill in a DTAC form?

2. When returning bavk to UK, we have a plane ticket using our UK passports. Does my wife leave thailand using her thai passport, but at the check in desk use her UK passport?

Hi All. My wife and I are returning to Thailand from Canada next week; we've been away from Thailand for 6 mos. Must we both fill out TDAC or just me as my wife is Thai? Many thanks.
