I said this a few weeks back in another group and all the newbies to Thailand dismissed it.

The DTV is a tourist visa long term. You will keep getting questioned at the border because the immigration see you this way.

Likely froze account because DTV holders are tourists not valid work permit holders which are needed to open and operate Thai bank accounts

So many slack tourists come to Thailand these days it’s crazy. Feel sorry for the country

You have to look at whether either are them places are suitable for a large family.

Hua Hin is a retirement town and Chiang Mai is more rural and quiet.

Do they have substantial international schools compared to where you are from? What’s the reason for moving? Will you make more money or is it a move for other reasons?
