I’ve been told you need to have proof the required 500,000 baht has been in your bank account continuously for 28 days prior to your application. Has anyone had to provide this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement to show proof of having 500,000 baht in a bank account for a Thai visa application varies by embassy. Some embassies might require the funds to be in the account for a minimum of 28 days, while others may only confirm the presence of the funds at the time of application. For example, applicants from the London Embassy reported needing various durations of bank statements, from immediate confirmation to up to three to six months of banking history. Recent updates in immigration orders suggest that certain conditions might change, particularly for extensions of stay within Thailand, so applicants should check directly with their respective embassies for the most accurate and current guidelines.

Mine only needed to know that it is currently there. Duration of that amount being in your account wasn't a requirement.

I provided two months

Proof of funds seasoning ( 500k Baht or however much the amount the specific Thai Embassy/Consulate stipulates) is discretionary depending on the specific Thai Embassy/Consulate where a DTV E–Visa application was submitted at.

Now, for DTV Extensions within Thailand at your local Thai Immigration Office, there is the very recent Immigration Bureau Order #
******
(2025), dated 13 January 2025, that stipulates a Full 30 Days prior to the DTV Extension application date.

Depends on the embassy. Hcmc wants 6 months of bank statements as of two weeks ago.
Gilbert *****
@Ian *******
6 months of bank statements with the balance of 500,000 baht for all 6 months at HCMC?
Ian ********
@Gilbert ****
haha well i think that’s what they want, but here’s what i submitted (around feb 20, and got approved):

June-december statements that showed an account slowly decreasing in value, and ultimately ended with a balance below 500,000 baht.

Clearly they weren’t checking all that hard
Gilbert *****
Ahh ok. I've seen a number of people report that they had just transferred the money to the account before they applied and were approved. But I've also seen a couple of other reports stating otherwise.

@Tommy *******
To extend your six month stay at an immigration office you need to have the 500K THB in your account for 30 days. Are you confusing that extension requirement with the initial application requirement?
Anna *********
@Andi **********
You are being kind Maybe he is just wrong 😀
Andi ***********
@Anna ********
He is wrong for sure. I think he is confused over the extension.

@Tommy *******
might happen isn’t applicable now then is it. Anything ‘might’ happen so again more false information Ideas are not facts
Andi ***********
@Tommy *******
Not solid info you got. i deposited funds a week before approval. Successful applicants have deposited the 500K within 1-2 hours before submission.Some embassies require the 500K to be banked for 3-6 months before applying. The rules vary among embassies.

definitely solid information. One of the best out of multiple gov sources I have on DTV. Everything they have said is right.

Likely changes aren’t implanted in all embassies yet.

@Richard *****
you got lucky they wasn’t thorough

no the general requirements don’t have a seasoning aspect. Different embassies have added that as they see fit

the original is 6 months for all embassies after they do,what they want but on paper it’s 6 months

It doesn't matter how many times you say it you are still WRONG. I don't care at all but it does make it difficult for people who read these threads so best you look at the requirements again

I have and I’m just saying what the original was but some embassies are more relaxed.
