Thanks guys. Amazing work ๐Ÿ‘ Nothing really new besides the fact that 11k dtv have been issued which is quite a lot actually. But good to hear from the MFA about all those things again and have some sort of confirmation about a few things. Its a great source to share with people new to the DTV and disbelievers :D the extension requirements are exactly what immigration offices are telling us for a few months. Guess next month we will find out more details from people doing the process.

Thanks again ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

definitely new things told here.

Financial proof on extensions, possibility of extending beyond 5 years, DTV rights / price laces, soft power options, top 5 nationalities - these things havenโ€™t been clear, until now.

regarding the extension and document/financial proof: thats the same what my and other immigration offices are already telling us for a while. people just didnt believe when we posted about it because it was not official enough when an officer tells you something :D

in the end we cannot forget that only the MFA is speaking out. the immigration who handles entry and extension hasnt said a word so far. they could do their own thing and every immigration office could do it slightly differently. we will see soon.

Experience tells that what different Thai civil servants say, can be far from what actually will happen and how the rules will be interpreted by those who act out the law, at different parts of Thailand.

Extension requirements: This confirmed what I had already assumed from Immigration Order

โ€” they will require 500,000 (with no further details provided, though).

Khun Naruchai mentioned that immigration is currently preparing rules to specify the requirements. Iโ€™m looking forward to seeing them.

Excellent interview, great job clearing up so many questions about the DTV. i just got mine and the Thai supervisor who I spoke to also said doing a border run is the easiest option to extend. This interview needs to get a much wider audience.

Whether more courses needed to be booked and the 500K in the bank to be shown again after the first 6 months. Which are not required on re entry but only for extensions.
