TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting in Thailand can be avoided by frequently leaving the country before the 90-day period is up, effectively resetting the reporting countdown. Some expats have managed to stay without doing the report by traveling in and out of Thailand within the 90 days. However, failing to report may lead to fines if caught by immigration or police; it's generally advised to adhere to the rules to avoid potential complications, especially when applying for yearly visa extensions.

How? By not going to do it.

What is the 90 day report? You need to do this every time you enter the country or just the first time? How is it different than the extension?
Pete *******
Anonymous participant 505 it’s very simple. The law requires you to report your address to Immigration every time you spend 90 consecutive days in the Kingdom.
Bob ********
I am here on a DTV.

I fly a lot because of my job, hence never staying longer than 90 days in a row.

I have been in Thailand for 4 months, already went 8 times in and out. Very convenient.

For those who travel every 3 months or maybe those who never have to use an immigration office for extensions or any residency certificate services.

Pay the fine 2000 baht
Dany ********
Some people do, some people dont 🤷‍♀️ some people get fined, some people dont… its not too big of a deal actually. so if you stay 180 days and didnt do your report and leave through the airport then usually nothing happens… in case you interact with immigration inside thailand before you leave then you might get a fine and thats it.
Rok ********
Never stay 90 days or more. When you return the 90 days reporting requirement resets itself.
Expat **********
You’re here as a tourist. Follow the rules or leave.
Anna *********
Just don’t go and do it as you are supposed to. Easy but stupid 😀
Tommy ********
Depending on your visa

Some on go jail

Also ha ah
Dany ********
@Pushpinder ******
no one goes to jail
Steve *******
@Pushpinder ******
that's never happened

Like others said, leave before the 90 days. Only legal way.

Otherwise just plain stupid to not do the report, as you will get fined and could be deported and blacklisted. I don't understand why people make an issue of the 90 day report. It's easy and can be done online.
Dany ********
Anonymer Teilnehmer 599 you will not get fined unless you have to interact with immigration and they have a bad day. on your exit through the border (air/land) they will not fine you at all. and inside thailand they often dont fine you either. you will not be deported, banned, etc. for a 90d report infringement. it is not an overstay. you are clearly fearmongering with incorrect arguments. the report can also not be done online for most DTV holders.
Luit *****************
@Dany *******
the possibility always exists you have to interact with police unvoluntary, since TM47 is free and easy I just would not take that risk.
Dany ********
@Luit ****************
you will be fined. but the 90d report offence will not get you deported and banned. it is not an overstay. of course i would recommend doing the 90d report and following regulations. just pointing out the allmost not existing consequences. i did multiple mistakes with the 90d reports a few times and it was always okay when talking with immigration. now i check my dates more thoroughly 😅 (didnt pay a fine)

@Dany *******
I have lived in Thailand for years. So pretty sure I know the rules. In most cases it won't be severe, but it could be
Jamie ********
Anonymous participant 599 a classic idiotic comment from someone who has to hide they’re identity 🙄
Dany ********
Anonymer Teilnehmer 599 i live in thailand too, for years. that wont help

any argument 🤣🤣 if you know the rules then you know that no one gets deported or banned for not doing a 90d report… typical anonymous fearmongering that is far far from reality.
Luit *****************
Anonieme deelnemer 599 for DTV online normally is not an option because the first report of the 180 day has to be in person, and when you plan correct there will be no second report.
Anonymous ******************
Anonymous participant 599 because many landlords don't know what is tm30 and many times they refuse to make it.
Luit *****************
Anonieme deelnemer 233 when they don't know what is TM30, explain them kindly and tell them it is mandatory for them to do.
Anonymous ******************
@Luit ****************
they kindly said thei rent me it illegally so either I accept I'm not gonna have tm30 or I should be looking for another apartment. I think it's very very common out of Bangkok/chang mai
Luit *****************
Anonieme deelnemer 233 That is the downside of renting something illegal, of course you can stay for a night in a cheap hotel to get TM30 before you do TM47.
Expat **********
Anonymous participant 233 do it yourself then

You leave the country. The only time I ever did 90 day reports was during Covid. Generally I leave every 6-8 weeks.
Aekky *******
If the immigration found that you did not do 90 days report, they fine you 2000 Baht. In the case that you got caught by the police for minor charge like bar fight or dui, the police will fine 4000 Thai Baht.
Stuart *********
By not staying in the country for 90 days.
Pete *******
LTR visa = no 90 day reports.
Jim *******
@Pete ******
Meeting the requirements are the difficult bit
Pete *******
@Jim ******
agree, it’s certainly not for everyone.
Luit *****************
@Pete ******
Do you know if you have to comply to the financial requirements during the whole validity period or just the year you apply?
Brandon ************
@Luit ****************
When you apply, and then again at year 5 when you have to re-qualify for the 2nd half of the visa
Jim *******
@Pete ******
It’s 50k
Todd *********
@Jim ******
That is DIRT cheap. That’s 5k annually for a multi entry visa. Lowest price in Thailand 1900+3800 =5,700 annually.

Not including perks like tax free status, no 90 day reporting, fast track etc

@Jim ******
so what? The question was about 90 day reporting, not about price.
Kyaw *****
Before 90 days , leave from thailand and come back , so u don't need 90 days report
Kyaw *****
I stayed 97 days and today i leave without reporting 90 days report, in rule u can apply 90 days report , before 14 days and after 7 days. Otherwise they will fine you 2000 Baht
Luit *****************
@Kyaw ****
So you decided to break the rules while you know you might be fined now with your next immigration interaction?
Jamie ********
@Kyaw ****
did you get fined at airport for not doing 90 day report?
Luit *****************
@Jamie *******
They will not fine you at the airport
Pete *******
By paying the fine when they go for their yearly extension. So people aren’t too bright.
Todd *********
@Pete ******
including you. You never need to go for a yearly extension…
Pete *******
@Todd ********
the OP’s comment isn’t limited to the DTV.
Todd *********
@Pete ******
ok that’s fair. True! Anyone using immigration office for renewals would be subject to a 2k baht fine.

Anyone with DTV, LTR don’t need to renew. And anyone using an agent really doesn’t need to either.

If you travel outside the country often enough (within the 90 day span) then the timer resets
