Haha not stress free. They’ll question you at the border if they feel you are only staying in Thailand and not travelling like digital nomads are supposed to do

It’s not a year old yet. Any changes will come after. There have been more rejections than you think.

Only 20,000 DTV visas approved as of February. Nothing compared to the number of tourists that enter each day, or the amount of work permits approved for expats

Anonymous participant I take it your British with that attitude?

Point is, remote workers usually refer to a place they work as a base, not a home. It’s that simple if it’s not a long term or work permit.

Refer to it as you like, why are biting and why do you care?

No one is “famous” on TikTok. It’s not a legit channel for information, it’s just freelance marketeers sharing content, which most regard as silly, pointless and a waste of time. But sure it has its audience.

Going by what you’ve said, you’re not eligible.

My advice, work and get some experience properly, wait until you’re in your 20’s and make the move. Plenty other places worldwide to try your hat at

Anonymous participant if you’re not on a legit work or long term visa, it’s not really your home. It’s a base. Or you could call it a temp home. But in reality that visa is for people who remote work and base in many places, not just one place. The government even said it themselves, it’s not a long term visa and if you want to live in Thailand, you need to get other appropriate visas.

But you’re on a DTV. It’s not really home, more a base.
