There was one post where somebody did just that in hong kong only used his entry stamp to hong kong as proof where he was

One person posted the other day he had problems doing this. But i did it a few months ago and true just transferred whole phone data to new phone and the bangkok bank app was one app i never had any issues with.

Get cheap flight to malaysia or singapore and come back in. Or use company in phuket for nervewracking drive to ranong (myanmar) and enjoy possibly wet boat ride over and back again.
