First DTV arrival at SuvarnaBhumi from Hanoi. Passport, A4Print Visa, Boarding pass. "Sawadee Krap". The Immigration Officer smiles happily, with an approving sound of satisfaction, upon seeing the fresh DTV paper. Oxytocin rushes thru my brain. She stamps and writes with a pen. Dopamine gets activated. "6 months, right?, I ask. "180 days" she corrects with an graceful instructive quality. The charming, calm and intelligent Thai Style puts me right back into that space of peace and joy. A "Welcome Back to the Golden Land" feeling fills me. With an ear-to-ear smile and a grateful "Kap Khun Krap" I receive back the passport, all within 30 seconds. Thai Culture really is warm, kind and respectful. Absolute Winner in SE Asia, and Gold score top spot in the world really.
I am looking for soft power options in Krabi/ao nang.
I was planning on doing Discover Thai Nature, like many have suggested and the information is very interesting to me. I thought it was virtual seminars and I now realize it's in person classes in Bangkok. I do not want to live in Bangkok. I also after further research learned that there are no fully virtual class options on DTV.
Basically just looking for soft power options in Krabi if anyone has any recommendations I would really appreciate it.
I searched the group and just found one person saying they are doing Muay Thai but didn't list the gym
The closing chapter on my Frozen account with Bangkok Bank. Yesterday I went back at the 11AM opening of my Bangkok Bank branch airport Central Chiang Mai and waited about 5 minutes before I was called on. The staff had more than doubled from 3 weeks ago. I had provided all of the documentation requested during my last visit including passport, year lease, bank book, and Thailand driver's license. I was promised that the head office would call me to let me know the status of my reopening which did not happen, so I came back in to find out what was going on. Interesting that the original copies of my reopening paperwork were in an easily accessible location, a nod to those who look at BB branches as individual franchises. It was a bit of a hostile atmosphere dominated by older farangs like myself, some yelling thinking that it would help the process. I chose the tact of quiet cooperation and after about 20 minutes multiple ladies had worked on the reopening which happened. No additional documentation, the dreaded certification of my passport by my embassy consulate was not asked for and I verified my account was open before I left. Done.
