Hello! I have 1 question. I came from US on Nov. 15th 2024 with tourist exempt so I didn't apply for visa, but there are 2 conflicting statements when I did research some says I can stay 60 days & extend for another 30 some say it's only 30 days. Does anyone know what the correct information is? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a US citizen entering Thailand under the visa exemption, the initial stay is 60 days as per recent updates since July 15th, which allows for a one-time extension of 30 days at a local immigration office. It is important to check the entry stamp in your passport for your specific expiration date.

Surely it's right there in your passport, your entry stamp? That will tell when your ok till, i would assume it indicates 60 days from entry date..

Have you checked the stamp in your passport?

Curious, where are the conflicting statements being shown?

@Lynnette ******
Older non updated websites that will still show 30 day visa exempt. Some still show “only 15 days if entering via a land border”. That stopped in 2016.

when I looked for UK to Thailand on the UK govt website it's all up to date. Same for USA govt page. So there must be some other places people look.

@Lynnette ******
Yes. Many places that come up on random google search results. Some are even embassy/consulate website that still have old info on them.

thought they usually have date on when they were published. I was just curious why so many see conflicting info. Being nosey! Lol.

just wondered where people are looking.

Since July 15th entering visa exempt was changed from 30 days on entry to 60 days on entry.

You are allowed one extension of 30 days from a local immigration office before you’d have to leave Thailand.
