Is it still possible for someone to change their Extension from Work to Retirement, and their non-Thai dependants (wife and young child) to move with them?
Send the original but keep a photocopy for yourself. You will also need to enclose a self-addressed envelope with a stamp, plus copies of your entry stamp and latest extension stamp. Send via EMS for additional security.
A Visa on Arrival cannot be extended. However, if your parents try to do this, Immigration will give them 7 days (from the date they visit Immigration) to leave Thailand. The cost is 1,900 baht.
Both my wife and son have lived here for 8 years as my dependents on my Work extension (they both initially had O visas). Things might have to change soon as I may no longer be able to get my annual extension. I may post about that separately!
Thanks. So, I could get a Retirement extension and my wife could piggy back on our son's Ed extension ... Or, I just get a Retirement extension and both my wife and son piggyback on that?
