Our family is looking to move to Thailand next year,
I’m 47 and have my own business here in the UK which I can run online.
My partner is 45 and is a carer? Is there any English run care homes in Thailand she could work in?
We have a 15 year old who wants to do hairdressing at college over there.
We also have a 13 year old daughter is there any schools you can recommend ?
We are looking for somewhere quiet but not to far away from a city/town is their any area you can suggest.
Also looking for 6/7 bedroom villa with pool and air con to rent long term that doesn’t come with added tourist tax if you could point us in the right direction all help and advise would be appreciated 🙂
Just been to Bangkok Bank in Udon Thani and asked for a simple bank account. I had my passport and 90 day retirement visa and driving licence. I’m 56 and retired and in a relationship. My girlfriend rents a home nearby. I was told that I also need a TM30 stamped at immigration office and long term rental agreement. She also tried to sell me Insurance for 50k baht for 12 months, as she said it would help my application. This is just a post for information purposes but feel free to add comments that may help!
Taxation of Tax Residents - look at the video 3:15.
Interesting 3 points made.
Some very good info in here I had not heard before. One thing that was new to me is banks report to revenue all accounts with over 2 million THB in or 400+ transactions a year.
Bottom line for DTV holders - unless you are remitting large amounts of money you earned in the same tax year you are tax resident then do not worry so much about tax.
EDIT: Around 30 mins they clear up ATM and CC use - yes it counts as remmitance
Anybody who is a member of this group who don't need or want to give advice should fu@@ off and grow up. People want advice not belittling....absolute idiots
Which health insurance company do you recommend for being in Thailand on DTV (up 6 months in a year not to hit tax residency) - and not spend fortune on it.
Hi, does anyone know how to get a Thai bank account ? What is needed ? I saw some lawyers offering it as a paid service, but was interested to know if I needed to use one or not, I’m entering on a normal tourist visa.
ps. I have a family members address I could use for the account address if needed.
Moving to Thailand straight off the bat on a DTV Work Visa. I plan to visit and shop Condos once I arrive on Apr 2nd-- but I wonder how long it would take to settle in, since Songkran happens in about a week after I arrive. What does work hours look like, as well as general services around the city? I assume everyone might be on holidays.
Does anyone have any perspective or advice on my course of action?
I've booked a comfy hotel for 2 weeks, But I think I may need to extend it to a month.
My work involves a stationary computer and desktop setup with microphone and multiple screens, so I'm trying not to move around too much.
