My name is Christian and I’m a married father of 2 kids (10 and 6 years old).
We might intent to relocate to BKK next year from the UAE where we live and work today. My wife and I are 41 years old and have a German passport, UAE residency and UAE tax residency not paying income tax at all.
Once moved to Thailand, we will live off passive income
My questions:
- What kind of visa could we use?
- Is DTV an option?
- can we apply for a guardian visa for my kids who will study at an international English speaking private school in BKK?
- how to minimise or avoid Thai income tax legally ?
- can you recommend a good visa law / tax consulting firm?
I would like to request assistance in applying for a Thai Tax Identification Number (TIN) at the earliest, even though I have not yet completed 180 days in Thailand.
As I will be earning taxable income during this period, obtaining a TIN early may help reduce the applicable tax rate and simplify tax filing later.
Please let me know if this is possible and what documents you require from my side.
Hi guys, i want to live and work in Thailand. Been trying all over Asia and amerika to find another place to be but i am always drawn back to the land of smiles. Are there any tax guys in here that could estimate roughly how much tax i would have to pay to Thailand if i make 95 000 $ USD in my home country, but bring only 45 000 into Thailand every year (through wise, all Credit cards, rent etc) ? I currently dont pay any in come tax so been avoiding living here for more than 180 days, but its now time to settle down somewhere. Thanks for any Advice if you have any.
Hello, just received a text from my Thai bank requesting urgent information regarding CRS. I am not from the US and Ipay all my taxes in my home country. Do I need to do anything as it requests I contact them. Thanks
Edit Update: Thanks for all the replies. Just been to my bank and it was a genuine text I received. I had to take in my passport, bank book, tax number in my overseas country and proof of Thailand address. They filled in the forms which took 10 minutes in all. Good luck if you need to do this.
Maybe a dumb question, but is it possible to hold a DTV Visa (Thailand) and a Malaysia (nomad/MM2 visa) as can’t face returning to UK for 6months of the year due to 180day limitation on DTV
If not , what are most people doing to circumvent this process ?
Looking for some opinions and or advice . Return to Thailand on Nov 22 and was going to start the process of retirement visa .
Just finishing a long visit in Vietnam and realizing I would like to visit many more countries , put off traveling for too many years and want to do it while still able to.
Is it crazy to lock up the 800,000 in a Thai bank when I will be in and out of country for the next couple of years? TIA
