I am hearing some changes to renewing a one year retirement visa?

I used an agent last year. I have a bank account with Bangkok bank. Agent says no problem come 1 month before its due. I have a few months..... What's everyone's expierence since renewing with their agent only in last few months or so.

Appreciate response. I used search function. Didn't find anything.

I am hearing about bank accounts being frozen and other issues.

My embassy doesn't verify funds for me.

Also I was ignorant and did not update my passbook as I couldn't find it for a bit so it doesn't show my consistent income of 65k + monthly entries .

Is there a way to get that from bank ? Is it necessary. ?

I really dont want to put up and leave 800k in a bank here. Whole reason I did my visa with an agent. If you know you remember how that hurdle is addressed. I am hearing that they can't do that anymore. Hence the 4 month freeze is what i think they're doing. Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks for the help.

So i am seeing tons of people having problems with Bangkok bank for visa renewals and applications. If I were to open a, say krungthai, account. And transfer over my 400k for marriage. Then go to immigration next week. Got statements from Bangkok bank and krungthai. Does that work for my financial part. Or does it need to stay in one single account?

Yesterday, 5th August, I renewed my Non O (Retirement) Visa. Does my 90 days reporting period reset from yesterday or does it continue from my last date of entry into Thailand?

hello everyone, i am currently on a 1 year non-o visa, expires on end of october. My husband is considering to change company for his work permit and visa. the entire process will take about 4 or 5 months. In this case, can I extend our visas to cover this duration? or we have no choice but to renew when our current visa expires? thank you for your advices!

Hi everyone,

I entered Thailand on a tourist visa, and after arriving I received approval for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa).

In a few days, my 60-day tourist visa will expire, and I’m planning to go to Laos to renew it.

Is it problematic to leave and re-enter Thailand with the DTV already approved?

I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences.

Dear group members,

I’m a French living in Phuket, currently holding a one-year Non-O Thai Child visa, which is set to expire on August 31st.

My daughter has dual nationality (Thai/French), and I’m now in the process of renewing my visa. However, immigration informed me that they no longer accept bank accounts from Bangkok Bank due to issues related to scams. They’ve asked me to open a new account with a different bank in order to proceed with the renewal.

I’ve visited several banks in Phuket, but so far, all of them have refused to open an account for me with my Non-O Thai Child visa. Some banks also require school enrollment documents (but my daughter is still too young), or they ask for an ED visa—which doesn’t apply, as she is Thai.

I’m a bit confused and honestly feeling stuck, so I’d really appreciate any advice or if anyone has experienced something similar and could share how they managed it.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Clément

My friend holds a Non Immigrant Business visa (Non B visa) which expires and renewed every December for the last few years.

He is going to register his marriage with his Thai spouse this month.

Does he need to do anything with his Non B visa? Or can he just renew as usual as if nothing happened.

He plans to continue using Non B visa , no plans to use Spouse/Marriage visa.

Hello everyone,

I'm currently in Chiang Mai and have two months left on my Non-O retirement visa. Two months ago, I moved to a new condo, and my landlord provided me with a new TM30 already.

Do I need to take any action regarding my visa due to this change of address? My 90-day report is also due next week, and I'm wondering if not reporting my change of address before my 90-day reporting or Non-O renewal will cause any issues with the Chiang Mai office.

Thank you very much for your input!

Extreme bank account / visa renewal hack

Either switch to a smart visa (only category remaining is startup) or partner with someone who qualifies. BOI visas like smart and LTR are the only ones that qualify right now and just qualify but have staff that will call up to assist or push an acct opening for you

If funds aren't a problem but the account situation is, this could work. Ideally you have your own biz that may qualify but if not, if partnered with someone, you could just be a minority owner of Thai entity and just get a visa "along the ride". Downside, you'd have to be sure they really plan to do their biz/startup for the long term or at least as long as it takes to...

likely switch back to the retirement visa once you have the acct
