I'm doing my DTV with a Lanna Cooking Classes, and after get back to Thailand I'll have 6 months of class with the place. So my question is: I need to keep doing this cooking classes for all long of the 5 years? (or some activity during the whole period of 5 years?)
I’ve seen conflicting information so a bit of clarity would be appreciated.
If I use a full service visa agent, resulting in a non A and essentially 15 months of visa. Can I then spend that 15 months importing 65k a month and apply for my next 12 months on my own using that evidence?
UPDATE: DTV approved 9th May in Phnom Penh for soft power medical- Dental Implant surgery.
Thanks to the group for support! 🙏
I’m getting concerned as next week there are a lot of public holidays (Thai & Cambodian), my visa will expire and I’ll miss the flight back to Thailand and my appointment for surgery. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am applying for a Marraige Visa renewal, I use the 400k baht deposit route. On initial application last year I had 400k deposited 60 days prior to applying. Is it the same for renewals, I have read somewhere that renewal requires 90 days prior to applying.
Would there be any problem with a DTV approach where one intends to use the Muay Thai reason for the entire 5 years, and then again and again, indefinitely? I'm advising a friend who is considering retiring here, and he has done a lot of martial arts study in the past and can actually see himself doing very long term Muay Thai study.
Just a heads up. I renewed retirement extension today and was sent to update my bank book again having just updated it all with a years statement from the bank and bank confirmation letter just the afternoon before. Never had this happen before. Apparently if it is a savings account the new rule is it has to be updated ON THE DAY you go to immigration. Of course lost my parking space which I had secured by getting there before immigration opened, my time going to the relevant bank in Phuket town to update yet again and then not being able to find a parking spot at immigration when I got back took another 40 minutes. If in fixed account that’s alright to do the day before but NOT a savings account.
The only other change is there are now 4 forms you have to complete and only one of the forms is the same as last year, so if you took forms last year to prepare and fill in before you come you may find they are now not correct.
Just the fun of all the changes each year to keep you on your toes.
So with all the 6 month cooking and muay thai classes, what happens after month 7, let’s say if you return to Thailand and immigration starts asking questions. Does one just continually renew those courses or take a risk? Because there isn’t anything on the visa itself that says how you qualified unless when they scan the QR code more info shows up. Thoughts ?
