TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks recommendations for agencies in Bangkok to assist with obtaining a TM30, certificate of residence, and Thai driving license. Several comments suggest that many of these processes can be handled personally at immigration offices, with some users advising against using agents due to potential hassle. Some mention specific agencies such as Nova International Law Firm and F.S. Consulting in Pattaya for similar services, while others emphasize the legal requirement for landlords to file TM30s and the simplicity of the processes involved.

can anyone recommend a good visa agent in Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai please.

I went to one in Soi 6 pattaya the did a good job

I did it myself, its very very easy. Don’t waste your time and money with agents…

Not sure about Bangkok, but in Pattaya "One Stop Visa Service" (

is good. They'll take care of everything. Just get in touch with them, they are super friendly and helpful.

Check into any hotel all lodgings for 1 night and they have to give you a tm 30 by law And you can get a Certificate of residence on a tourist Visa never been a problem You just need to state what it's for 🙏
Nongnuch ********
don't know for Bangkok, but in Pattaya you can visit F.S. Coinsulting Co. of

Forget about the 90 day report. Just pay 60 bucks every year (or with DTV never since you leave anyway after half a year) and you feel free from the hassle and brainless government surveillance. You will thank me later. (I haven't done it for years and boy does it feel great to be free in the land of smiles)

@Uwe ***

Do it legally yourself

My landlord refuses to do the TM30.

The Landlord / owner of the place you are staying, has to do the TM30 ( by law ).

The residence certificat you get at the Immigration office ( if qualified )

Driving license you get at the DLT.

Yeah BKK is annoying for this. Had this problem trying to get Residence Certificate for buying new bike. Instead I came to Pattaya where it is super easy and can get on shorter term visa. I think in Chiang Mai as well you don't need long term visa.

Do it yourself it’s rather but not necessarily easy. I will help you understand the process and get to know the immigration folks. You’ll start to get to know them.
John **********
Wherever you are staying should have done a TM30 for you. Ask them for a copy

Go and check into a legitimate guest house or hotel and they will register you

thanks but I would like to get the ball rolling now, my rental agreement is in trat so I'm not sure if Bangkok will supply me with everything and want to buy the car in Bangkok so don't want to go all the way to trat just for paperwork then back up to Bangkok ....
Tony **********
@Kay ********
why not buy the car and then go to the provincial capital DLT in your province to get new plates for the car there when you transfer ownership? No need to go to DLT in Bangkok unless you're living there.
Jim ***********
@Kay ********
OK probably impossible then

that's why I thought a reputable agency would be the best way forward....

understand now. Originally I used agent Phuket but was years ago. Was on TR visa back then and can't remember what I needed. Bkk probably stricter than what I needed back then . Good luck 👍

@Jim **********
Only if you’re on a long stay visa and have done your first 90 days report they will issue a residence certificate in Bangkok.
Tore *********
@Jan *****************
not true anymore. 90 day report not needed, got my CoR yesterday. I applied a couple weeks after i arrived
Jan ******************
@Tore ********
See my comment above
Stuart *********
@Jan *****************
Not true anymore. They’ll issue on any visa type now - even exempt.
Jan ******************
@Stuart ********
Good if that’s the case, based on several feedback over time Bangkok have been quite strict regarding residence certificate if you haven’t done your first 90 days report.🤙
Stuart *********
@Jan *****************
Yes. That was the policy. Changed a few weeks ago.
Jim ***********
@Jan *****************
if not on visa why would anyone want a thai licence? Tourists use international permit
Nigel ********
@Jim **********
Because IDP is only valid for 3 months in country maximum Otherwise all your insurances are void if you have an accident
Jan ******************

I didn’t have a motorcycle license from home, so I took the motorcycle license the regular Thai way with theoretical and practical test in Thailand on a visa exemption in two days, but I needed a residence certificate.

(Not recommended if you don’t have experience which I had as smaller motorcycles was without license previously in Norway).
