TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around recommendations and advice for obtaining a TM30, certificate of residence, and Thai driving license in Bangkok. It includes various suggestions from community members, such as contacting immigration directly, requesting assistance from landlords for the TM30, and options for doing the process independently. Additionally, several agencies are mentioned, including Nova International Law Firm and One Stop Visa Service in Pattaya, with emphasis on the ease of handling these processes personally to avoid unnecessary costs.

Check into any hotel all lodgings for 1 night and they have to give you a tm 30 by law And you can get a Certificate of residence on a tourist Visa never been a problem You just need to state what it's for 🙏

Forget about the 90 day report. Just pay 60 bucks every year (or with DTV never since you leave anyway after half a year) and you feel free from the hassle and brainless government surveillance. You will thank me later. (I haven't done it for years and boy does it feel great to be free in the land of smiles)

The Landlord / owner of the place you are staying, has to do the TM30 ( by law ).

The residence certificat you get at the Immigration office ( if qualified )

Driving license you get at the DLT.

Yeah BKK is annoying for this. Had this problem trying to get Residence Certificate for buying new bike. Instead I came to Pattaya where it is super easy and can get on shorter term visa. I think in Chiang Mai as well you don't need long term visa.

Do it yourself it’s rather but not necessarily easy. I will help you understand the process and get to know the immigration folks. You’ll start to get to know them.

why not buy the car and then go to the provincial capital DLT in your province to get new plates for the car there when you transfer ownership? No need to go to DLT in Bangkok unless you're living there.

Only if you’re on a long stay visa and have done your first 90 days report they will issue a residence certificate in Bangkok.

Good if that’s the case, based on several feedback over time Bangkok have been quite strict regarding residence certificate if you haven’t done your first 90 days report.🤙

Because IDP is only valid for 3 months in country maximum Otherwise all your insurances are void if you have an accident

I didn’t have a motorcycle license from home, so I took the motorcycle license the regular Thai way with theoretical and practical test in Thailand on a visa exemption in two days, but I needed a residence certificate.

(Not recommended if you don’t have experience which I had as smaller motorcycles was without license previously in Norway).
